Further to the lone parent holiday thread, is anyone else interested?

There will be me and my kids, Y7 and Y8 going, I am a non smoker female poster.

Shearbarn is not as posh as the website makes out!

I have stayed at winchelsea beach caravan park. It was fine but the entertainment/kids club was dire and we went out a lot.

I think the park resort one at camber sands looks the best option - challets, caravans or camping, but obviously isn't as cheap as would like.

I've been to both Pontins and Park Resorts at Camber Sands for several years now.

Pontins is run down, I've never stayed in budget which I think is the worse section. Classic and Club are fine. Really run down but new clean bedding.

Park Resort caravans are nicer more modern and cleaner and the entertainment is OK but Pontins entertainment is great fun for all ages. Kids don't really care about the condition of the carpet etc just how much they laugh.

For me if the kids are happy and entertained is most important bit

are we any further forward on where

Spero · 24/01/2011 09:35

I am up for it. Don't mind slightly grotty accommodation etc as long as there is stuff for the children to do. I don't mind sharing, I've got a car so could give anyone else in Bristol a lift - have spare space for 1 adult and 1 child.

BringOnTheGoat · 24/01/2011 19:34

I am more interested in good entertainment (if you can ever call this stuff good Grin), some adult company, a pool, a beach, things to do if it rains, rather than the accomodation aspect.

Personally I think if we're talking caravans on a holiday park we've got to expect some element of ming Smile. I say that as someone who's been on a few sun breaks so maybe I'm tarnished!!

I think as long as there's a few of us we'll have a fab time whatever [optimistic]

I will come if camping available, and cost of that is cheap enough.

1 DS 6 (yr2). I am very easy going and only having 1 dc am willing to watch others younger dc's if they want to do activities with older ones.

Again if theres a pool then that would be great. Evening ents with childs disco etc. Other than that we can make fun. I went away with my DS, friend and her 2 dd's. We adopted 6 dc's on the site as I was playing races with ours. I organised a whole its a knockout competition - in the rain I might add!!!

"4 nights combe haven going on 1st iscoming in at £540 for 2 bed standard"

You could probably go to Turkey cheaper!Smile

suburbophobe · 24/01/2011 21:57

And you'd be assured of good weather!Grin

No, I don't have shares, never been! Grin

gillybean2 · 25/01/2011 07:20

Suburbophobe - If i was one adult one child then possibly you could go to Turkey cheaper.

You're entirely missing the point in that many lone parents are looking for company - other adults to interact for us (as well as friends for our dc)!

Also if your family is bigger than 1LP+1dc, or you are prepared to share with someone then it is NOT cheaper to go to Turkey.

Nevereatyellowsnow · 25/01/2011 10:06

I'd love to come. I have 1 ds who will be 22 months and I smoke but only outside and away from ds

BringOnTheGoat · 25/01/2011 13:23

I'm same never - dd will be 21 months and snap for smoking. If you're looking to share, let me know Smile

Hi,

I'd be interested in Camber sands if the price was reasonable. I have a DD 10 and a DS who would be 2.
