Oh for goodness sakes... what do you wear for a "date"?

I have mentioned that I am meeting up with a POF guy for a coffee and then possibly a movie. We've talked back in forth via email and things are really chatty so looking forward to this.

Now.. as I've not dated in 10 years (!?) what does one wear?????

Anything that you feel attractive and at ease in.

He won't know your style so this will be something he'll be finding out about you. Change it too much and it'll be shock down the line.

However always wear something that flatters your assets whether good legs or boobs or whatever but not too tarty/glittery or trying too hard.

The most successful outfit of mine is boyfriend jeans and clumpy boots with a tight waistcoat made from light tweed (and a great bra) with nothing else underneath. Apparently a bit girl next door, a bit different and quite cool (their words).

And wear perfume and some effort at makeup.

V exciting!

I wore jeans and a shirt, but did my hair nicely, a little make up.
He honestly won't really notice unless it is in a bad way.
So no-nos are:
Short skirts, really low cut tops, anything see through, no underwear showing.
Nice pair of jeans, heeled boots, a fitted jumper. That kinda thing.

Also, on a serious note, don't wear shoes that would hinder you should you need to run.

No no's.. Wellies, lol. I don't have those things in my wardrobe so not to worry.

I don't really do jeans, more of a combat trousers/comfy/comfy (knee length) skirts, nice tops and cardi.

So, I will need to scrub myself up a bit.

How does calf length (flat) boots, nice skirt, fitted/flattering shirt and nice jacket sound? Because that's me. I will do hair nicely and wear a spot of make up but I don't normally.

Minefield this!

Thanks Justmore... sounds like a scrubbed up version of yourself is the way forward?

[Declaration of interest - I'm a man]

I reckon your proposed outfit sounds ideal. Go with something that you will feel comfortable and yourself in.

Oh, lovely - a mans opinion is good! Thanks for that.
