Looking for long term friendship

Would anyone here be interested in corresponding with a dad?

I?m Peter, 30 years old, single and I'M COMPLETELY GENUINE! I'm not fanatical about anything, I'm not looking for a relationship, I won't ask for any money ..... I just want your long term friendship.

I have two children...8 and 7

Since becoming a dad I have felt very isolated and sometimes lonely.

I would love to talk to mums, dads, married or single...it really don't matter.

If anyone is interested, send me a message and I will send you my e-mail address.

Incase anyone is wondering, I have been here before so this is not my first post.

Hi Peter

Were you feeling completely isolated and lonely between the first and second child arriving? I find that a bit strange sorry. But you did say you've been feeling this was since you became a dad... [hmm}

So you've posted in the lone parents thread. Is that because you are a single parent or are you only looking for friendship with someone who is a single parent? Because if all you want is friendship then does it matter if that is with a single parent or just other parents in general.

DaddyMcPhee · 05/11/2010 17:28

I've felt isolated since the birth of my first child.

No, I am not just looking for friendship with a single parent and that's why I have written "mums, dads, married or single"

I have also put this post in the parenting forum

In what way did you feel isolated?

DaddyMcPhee · 05/11/2010 17:36

Since my first child was born my friends...or so called friends seemed to have disappeared.

I don't know anyone around this area with children and it's not very often that I get to go out ither.

I would just like to natter someone that I have something in common with.

Hi Peter,

You might find that friendships develop through becoming part of the MN community? Maybe have a look around the site and dive in, we're generally welcoming Grin

ChaoticAngel · 05/11/2010 18:21

"we're generally welcoming"

Just don't forget to take your flame proof suit and tin hat if you venture into AIBU Grin

Miley10 · 06/11/2010 12:18

I dare not venture into AIBU, its not for the weak, I generally watch from a very far distance Grin

Gemimapuddleduck · 06/11/2010 15:23

Hi Peter, they say its good to talk, drop me ur email address if you wish to chat still, I think any single parent appreciates a chat and some companyx

gillybean2 · 07/11/2010 08:18

Hi Peter

You still haven't said whether you are actually single. And given your comment that you were lonely even between your first and second child it seems odd to me regarding what/any relationship you have with your dc's mother/mothers...

Can't speak for anyone else here, but I would feel incredibly uncomfortable contacting someone even for just for 'friendship' with a possible wife/partner still being around who may not be as happy about it when/if she were to know about it.

So please could you clarify your situation..?
Thanks

gillybean2 · 07/11/2010 08:21

PS stating you are 'COMPLETELY GENUINE' is probably what puts me off the most. Why do you need to say that if you are...

Sorry if I'm being overly cautious. Can you tell that I've heard that before from men in the past Grin

DaddyMcPhee · 07/11/2010 16:29

gillybean2: It say's that I am single on the post

I said that I am completely genuine because I didn't want people to think I was a scammer. Seems I'm damned if I do, damned if I don't lol.

When my first child was born alot of my friends p**sed off and there excuse for that was "You have changed mate" Yes I did change, I had more important things to worry about then going clubbing or what tyres my mate had just bought for his bike. I have felt lonely since the birth of my first child.

Reguarding my ex. We have a civil relationship, we get on for the sake of the kids. She is married now. We only talk when it's about the kids.

Just being curious but do you ask mums to clarify there situation is it because I'm a dad.

Nothing to do with being a dad. Someone (anyone) coming onto a forum as big as MN immediately asking to talk off board is just weird and a bit creepy imo

DaddyMcPhee · 07/11/2010 16:35

Oh, sorry if I'm being creepy and weird.

Give the guy a break.....what is wrong with you vultures. If you haven't got anything nice to say then don't say anything. Unfortunately there appears to be some people who cannot accept that there are men as lone parents as well. Good luck Smile
