Maintenance payments

Just a quick question re child maintenance payments.

We have two kids, who will be staying with me. Ex is moving in with a woman with 2 kids of her own.

When the CSA calculator says other children in non resident household - does this include her two children, whom she gets maintenance for - thus reducing what he gives me because of her two kids or do I plug in zero - because they are not his and are already taken care of.

Also as ex earns over £44K, do I lose child benefit or will she as they are now shacked up?

I get the feeling I am about to get screwed over once again!

I can't post links because I'm on my iphone but if you google cmoptions they should be able to help you. I'll try to find their phone number and post back later with it, I found them really helpful

You will have to include her children in his maintenance calculations I'm afraid. Any children who live in the same house as him count. Sorry

Child benefit, not sure about that but surely they can't take it off you when you're not even together?

Someone else who knows that will be along soon I'm sure

Yes you have to put 2 in children living in his household. It would be unreasonable to expect him to have no costs associated with the new partners dc being there. Even if they are taken care of by their parents he will still buy them presents, icecreams when they go out and the like.

And no, if you are getting the child benefit and your household only has one parent in it you should still get it I think. But until we get the detail on how this will actually work it's all a bit unclear. There's going to have to be some jiggling at some point, though I have a feeling the increase in tax free allowance will come in to play and cancel out any loss when it comes in so we won't all feel so badly off (or something like that)

you might as well put the two children down on your form as im sure he will declare them when he has to fill his forms in.

that bloody sucks the .... of death.

Her other half is expected to pay the best part of £1200 pcm ( yes he can afford it and I have no issue that he has to provide for his DCS which she has taken from him)£14400 tax free

Ex gets the child benefit at the moment so in theory he will lose it. However, she will jeep hers as her part time job brings in £ 9000 per annum net.

Then child benefit she keeps for her two dcs as her wage is low.

So he gets to pay less for his kids than he will be spending on hers, that is truly shite.
