Hi everyone,
I am planning a short trip to London soon and would love some local recommendations. We will be visiting with children and are looking for fun, family-friendly activities, good places to eat, and any hidden gems that aren't overly crowded.
Any advice on the best areas to stay or travel tips for getting around easily would also be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

There are so many option in London, it would be helpful to know:

how old are the children
what are your interests
have you done the main sights before?
any mobility issues or other considerations

I love taking the DLR to Greenwich, walking up to the Royal Observatory and then visiting the National Maritime Museum. Loads to see and do and much quieter than the other big museums. Greenwich is lovely too for a wander and some food. Or you can travel there via the Thames Clipper which is fun too

The British Museum is also great and often not at busy as National History and Science (both of these are brilliant, just v busy).

Young V&A worth a look

And my favourite hidden gem is the Grant Museum of Zoology near Euston. Its v small but absolutely packed full of amazing specimens

Another vote for Greenwich, lots to do for families and you can get there via the river or DLR. I also like the South Bank early evening for a walk, can stumble into free events and just somewhere away from traffic with places to eat and a vibe.
