Complicated London stay coming up - SOS!

Planning a very small wedding in Central London (probably one of the town halls) followed by dinner.

My partner will have his two kids (both under 11) and we also need to look after his Mum who has some mobility issues, but can walk.

There's no one else to look after everyone and we're happy to stay with them on our wedding night - yes I know it's unconventional - so they can attend.

But we'd ideally need a 4 bedroom hotel suite which of course isn't cheap. We'd like the kids to have their own rooms otherwise an adjoining room with them might have worked plus a separate room next door for his Mum. It would also mean that we could invite guests back after our early dinner (it would only be around 6 more people).

Not many options on Air BNB and it would be nice not to have to worry about cleaning up etc the next day.

Does anyone know any 4 star price level hotels in Central London that could make this work? Budget up to £1500 which would be more than enough for separate rooms but the suite is the issue. Or any other suggestions?

I would look for American style serviced apartments. However you may struggle with 4 bed surely the kids could share a room.

How about the guardsman at Buckingham gate

The royal lancaster hotel is nice for families and they have 3 bed suite. But to widen up the search most nice hotels will have 2 bed suites, if you’re willing to pay for them! Then put a kid on the sofabed in the living room if they really can’t share and get MIL her own room on the same floor.

mugglewump · 27/06/2026 12:27

I would widen your search outside central London to include zone 2 options. You are more likely to find a suitable AirBnB this way.

Can both kids not bunk in with Granny for one night? A two bed suite would be much easier to find.

The Hyatt Regency Churchill has a three bed, 2 bath family room with a king and two twins in your budget if available.
edit: I think it’s only 2 bed - sorry.

Two kids under 11 can definitely share, and MIL would probably be happier in her own room.

So you are just looking for a two bedroom suite, which should open up your options a lot more.

I agree with serviced apartments - there are several chains in London (Native, Residence....I forget the others).

SoScarletItWas · 27/06/2026 13:00

Look for London aparthotels. Various chains as PP said but ‘aparthotels’ is the specific word I’m adding for you to search by. You can get a three bed/four bed and there will be a proper lounge for you to come back to with friends.

Sanctum Regents Park has a 3 bed apartment but needs a minimum two night stay. Some dates are £800 a night so not too far over your budget though and a 2 night stay gives you a leisurely day after the wedding even if you don’t sleep there both nights.

Otherwise a family room in a hotel for mil and DSSs and then a room on same floor for yourselves may be workable.

You need to widen your search on Airbnb - start with your register office then search in a couple of miles radius.

Have you chosen the town hall yet? Bethnal Green town hall has been used in film sets due to (I think) the stairs inside and its also a hotel. Its a 5min walk from the tube and the overground the other way. The free, V&A children's museum is also 2mins away.
I have no idea if these hotels have inter-connecting rooms though.

Likely a cheaper option but still very close is this hotel

Thanks everyone, really helpful. The kids are an older girl and younger boy. She's going through puberty and feeling a bit uncomfortable sharing now but will see if we can encourage it for a one off.

Partner's Mum struggles with sleep so not really an option to have everyone together/with one of the kids.

Aparthotels might be our bets bet for 4 bedrooms. Will take a looks

No and open to options. East London isn't a bad option in terms of accomodation, just thought it might be nice to be more central.

Would two two beds be easier to find? You and one of the kids in one, mil and other child in the other.

I did actually suggest this to my partner and we were going to mull it over. Definitely an easier option, will investigate.
