I love to visit museums / churches exhibitions particular pre 20th century history. I've got a day in central London next week, any ideas of where I might not have been.

I'll caveat by saying I've visited quite a lot of places!

From memory I've been:
The Temple
Westminster Abbey
St Paul's
Portrait and National Gallery
War rooms
Kensington Palace
Hampton court
Tower of London
Huntarien museum (sp?)
Postal museum
Transport
Charles Dickens
Imperial war museum
British museum

Greenwich is too far for the time I have next week.

Any hidden gems? Don't need to be big ones! Or new exhibitions?

No good for this week as quite far out, but have you ever visited Chislehurst Caves? They are fascinating.

Oooo that’s one I may try!

Samuel Johnson's house, Gough Square. Near Fleet Street, St Bride's church, the Cheshire Cheese pub etc.

Someone on here recommended London walks. Walking tours to me when I asked for similar suggestions. They have loads of tours. They were excellent.

Second a pp who said The Mithraeum:

Right by Cannon St underneath the v corporate Bloomberg offices - definition of a hidden treasure. There's a sort of immersive audio visual thing once you're in there. It's free, can be done within an hour.
Also The British Library free exhibitions are great to pop in if you're in that area. Original Beatles lyrics, Mozarts handwritten sheet music, loads, and a nice cafe!

The Canal Museum in Kings X. Then hang round Kings X and St Pancras. There's also Camley Street natural park but it might be a bit cold

I second this. Excellent. The Dickens Museum near Holborn is also good.
