Postal Museum for 22 month old?

Hi, I live in south London (clue's in the username) but looking at tfl I could get up to Farringdon on the train in just under 1 hour to visit the Postal Museum.
DS is currently 21 months and still needs a long post lunch nap at home.
I could in theory get up to Farringdon for a 45 min play session at the Postal Museum before either having a picnic lunch or coming home for lunch and then a nap.
Is it worth it at his age or is it better to wait until he's a bit older and has dropped the lunch nap?
Getting a bit bored of the Horniman & Vauxhall City Farm so looking for other excursions we can do on a quiet morning.

It’s AWESOME. The best I’ve ever been to (born north Londoner) Be sure to book the additional children’s play room and go midweek. Not sure how he would be on the train, it’s quite small and enclosed.

if I were you, I’d pick a sunny day and take a walk to Corams fields after for a little play, as it’s a beautiful haven in the city, and you can make more of a day of it. Has a zip line. From there it’s also walkable to the British Museum if you find yourself at a loss of what else to do and you’ve come all that way.

but no, it’s fun for ALL ages and all mine would happily go back in a heartbeat.

Hi can’t comment on play sessions at Postal Museum but you could try the new children’s gym at Brixton Rec for a straight forward bus journey. Maritime museum has good play area once he gets older.

I’m up north but I would have LOVED this as a kid. My mum ran a big main post office and my favourite toy was my pretend post office!

@rose69 we tried the Rec when he was a bit younger but he wasn't super into climbing so didn't know what to do with himself. He walked circuits of the floor, playing with the locker doors and trying to run down the fire escape corridor.
Will try him again in a few months when he's a bit more into the climbing gym equipment.

Thanks @SisterAgatha . I was looking at Corams Fields and thinking that could work well for a picnic spot afterwards.

I would just book 'sorted' at his age. It's a fantastic play area and would be plenty. Save the museum until he's older
