Frozen the musical.. is it worth it?

Thinking of taking DD5 as she's completely obsessed with frozen.. I'm just looking at tickets and can 2 x tickets at the side stalls for £108 with a discount code for From the box office. Just wondering if its worth it? Its my birthday in a few weeks and wanted to celebrate by taking her for lunch then to see Frozen or maybe frozen matinee and an early dinner.
Any thoughts or recommendations? I have never taken her to the theatre before.

Absolutely worth it, it’s amazing.

Totally worth it! It's incredible! We've seen it twice now and trying to work out if we can afford to see it again!

Even my not very disney loving husband was blown away by it. Its amazing!

Oh gosh..I have a feeling she will love it.. ❤️

Yes it's fantastic, my daughter was that fussed about Frozen by the time we went but she loved it! She came out and said 'Wow, that was just magical'

Whattodo112222 · 02/06/2023 10:21

Are the seats on the sides where the stalls are OK do you think?

We didn't sit at the side, but we were on the back row, and the view was fine there.

curlymumof2 · 02/06/2023 10:35

You can buy tickets at noon on Mondays for around £30. They would be for that week though. Google Disney Magical Mondays. Took my lo for her 6th birthday and paid £60 for both of us and we had good seats

thecatwiththesilveryfur · 02/06/2023 10:39

What age is it suitable for? I really want to take my Frozen obsessed 4yo, but not aure if he'd be too young?

Comefromaway · 02/06/2023 10:43

Its a great show. Dh took me for my birthday and we don't even have young children!

Whattodo112222 · 02/06/2023 10:44

It would have to be a Saturday matinee performance as I'm a single parent working full time and most of my leave gets taken up by school holidays where she has other stuff going on. Happy to pay the money for the Saturday but was just wondering about seating and best and cheapest place to sit.

By the way, we sat at the back of the Royal Circle which I think are about the same price as the side stalls and the view there was great.. We booked direct via LW website.

Comefromaway · 02/06/2023 10:57

Although looking at it that price range in the royal circle do seem to be sold out for the next few sat matinees

I'm looking at the 3rd row from the stage last two seats.. non aisle end. It says there's excellent leg room but it's not next to an aisle.. got the tickets in my basket... just dithering at the moment... 😅

We went last week sitting in the grand circle which had a great view of the whole stage. My daughter's 4 and think it was too loud for her so she said 'I want to go home' repeatedly at the beginning of the second half Confused. I took her outside and the usher gave us some ear protectors and also told her there was no big scary snowman (daughter was also worried about this!). She was then happy to watch the rest of the show, thankfully.

The usher also said they have a separate area with iPads so kids can watch the show live but in a quieter area. I thought this was a great idea as there were some children much younger than 4 there who I can imagine would get overwhelmed by it all.

Amazing show as well!

I''ll be honest and say that 34d row from the front I think is a bit too close for a little one. If you are OK with it being higher up try the grand circle.

HappyGranny7 · 02/06/2023 11:09

Absolutely the best west end show I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen loads. I think I enjoyed it more than the grandkids. Saturday matinée performance. Quite close to the stage. Obviously watched dvd many times with older granddaughters but totally unprepared for the acting, stagesets, music. Completely magical. All the little girls in the audience with their Frozen dresses on. Bliss

HappyGranny7 · 02/06/2023 11:10

Oh and Elsa’s costume change!!!! Gasps and cheers from the audience

User478 · 02/06/2023 11:12

We sat on the very end of the back row, there was a tiny bit of 1 scene we could only see their feet for but was otherwise fine.

I think our tickets were £16.50 each.

Take DDs frozen dress, most kids were dressed up. Do not go to the shop it's £££.

(If you want a cuddly Elsa, pop to the Disneystore instead)

The show was fantastic, Listen to the soundtrack before so she knows that some of the songs are slightly different.

Comefromaway · 02/06/2023 11:12

The costume change is spectacular.

Fandabedodgy · 02/06/2023 11:16

It's the best musical I've ever seen and I've seen most of them.

Agree with the previous advice about Seat Plan.

There is also a newish to London (very popular in New York) site which is a bit like the Trip Advisor of musicals... www.show-score.com

It is quite handy for finding a grouping of both critic and audience reviews. Maybe not as relevant for something as big as Frozen but can be helping if you are choosing between a few shows.

Oh, and when our kids were little we used to take one of these. Theatres often run out of booster seats at shows where they are loads of kids and it meant we didn't have to worry!

Also, take their shoes off. Sounds silly, but there little legs sticking out with heavy shoes get tired...
