Afternoon tea or a very nice lunch

Where would you head for afternoon tea or a nice lunch, for a special occasion? Budget is okay but not unlimited! I'm a bit fussy and a vegetarian.

Just looked. We'd be quite restricted as vegetarians.

Are you on Instagram? If so have a look at the little london vegan. They post loads of great places.

Look at the feng Shang princess too if you want something different and like Chinese their food is good.

The Ampersand Hotel have a lovely science themed afternoon tea with vegetarian and vegan versions

Norma is one of the best veggie lunches I've had in recent memory.

Afternoon tea I'd do lily vanilli at the lane, I haven't been yet but her cakes are amazing.

Ah sorry - I didn't read properly! Quaglinos have a fab veggie menu and is brilliant for lunch and dinner, proper speakeasy Bugsy Malone vibes!

Have booked Hakkasan for a lunch. Need to make my mind up about others now!

Update: Hakkasan was amazing. Would go again in a heartbeat.

Tredwells in Upper St Martins Lane does a good vegetarian tasting menu and a la carte

Treadwells was really dire when I went there with my sister

I’ve had lunch at the Ritz recently and wished I’d gone somewhere else. It was a curates egg! Good in parts. But overall felt that it was catering for tourists who would never return whatever the service and food like. Food not that good and my main had to go back the pudding was nothing to write home about and it was £££.

We also ate at Cinnamon Bazaar on this trip. Not very good.

Interesting 're the Ritz. I've heard bad things about afternoon tea but good things about lunch.

I think Tredwells has closed.
