bringing parents to London for a longer term stay - any ideas how to?

I want to try to bring my (retired) parents to London for a longer-term stay. They live in a different country. I am thinking around 2-3 months.
Unfortunately, them staying with us is not really an option for longer than 2 weeks due to our flat being tiny.
Does anyone have any ideas, or has done this for their parents/friends/relatives? I was looking at home swap websites but most people are looking for holidays of around 2 weeks, not really long term swaps. Airbnb is way too expensive and most don't rent long term too.

Any ideas/tips appreciated...

You could look at short term rentals/corporate apartments. There are plenty about that used by companies for staff not permanently based in the UK. They're not cheap but potentially cheaper than Airbnb. But you have to be realistic with your budget because medium term in London is always going to be costly.

Post on your local area Facebook group.

I'm not sure if you can contact owners to ask questions via air bnb but if you can ask what they would charge for a let of that length. The website prices will be taking into account they won't have continuous let's all year so they might well be cheaper for the sort of period you are looking at.

How about house sitting?

Do they speak English. If they're not too old and happy to look after pets and maybe move around then that might work.

Thanks for suggestions

@underneaththeash how do I find those?

You could try here. I'm not sure what they charge but it might be worth a look. The first says max 28 days but if you scroll down you'll see they have longer stay options too.

Also, right now tourist numbers are down massively in London. A lot of places including Airbnb's might offer discounts particularly for longer stays.

Try the universities they may have empty rooms/halls of residence
