We are extremely unadventurous - Indian, Italian, British, Chinese are a yes but anything more interesting is out unfortunately.

We are staying near the Tate Modern so would love any ideas for dinner mainly but also breakfast and lunch!

Thanks

We went to The Ivy Asia by St Paul's a few weeks ago and it was great! The views are amazing too. There's lots of different food places in Borough market as well.

Afternoon Tea at The Swan, Globe Theatre is a nice treat with riverside views. What side of the river are you staying?

Newnameagainnow · 04/09/2020 19:48

Thank you I will be googling all of those as I assume we will need to book!

Embarrassed to admit I don’t know how to differentiate each side of the river. The same side as the OXO Tower by the looks of it Blush

Borough market
Tate Modern cafe / restaurant up the top

City Cruises did a children's afternoon tea on a boat pre covid. Don't know if it's back on yet though.

Absolutely not the Ivy Asia if you have kids and are unadventurous!
Around that area there’s lots of chains - Wagamama, The Real Greek, Zizzi, Nando’s and Pizza Express come to mind.

For breakfast Gails, Lantana and the Breakfast Club

TAS, Turkish restaurant - at Borough and The Cut.

TAS

If you can handle Indian and Chinese you can handle Turkish!

Agree Borough Market. Lots of food made fresh there, and you can get everyone something different if needed. Hobbs Meat Roast for stand-up "pig in a roll" is a family favourite, or there are loads of cafes and restaurants nearby. Fish! is good and Roast, plus Leon is nearby on Borough High Street.

Rainforest Cafe. My kids love it in there

There’s restaurent everywhere in London. Maybe use tripadvisor to see what’s recommended in the area you are staying.

If you walk along the riverside path in the direction of the London Eye, you will pass oodles of places - there's a nice outdoor food court type place, and several vans (which are essentially take away, and then eat al fresco) so you wouldn't need to book.

If you don't mind walking a bit, go over the river to Drury Lane and try Sarastros. You could walk a bit further, through Covent Garden and go to Chinatown?

Dickens Inn - near Tower Bridge north bank always gets my vote. Suits adults and children alike - seeing the boats in St Katharine's Dock is a bonus. Have gone for a few family meals here.

Thank you thank you! So many great suggestions and I’ll check them all out. Personal recommendations are just priceless. I’ll maybe book for dinners and do street food type for lunch. I’m very excited to go now! Grin
