Recommendations for CofE school in East Finchley area

We are moving down to London during the school summer hols due to relocation with work, and are looking to rent/buy in or near East Finchley because of proximity to aging parents! We have a strong churchgoing background and ideally would like the DC to continue to attend a good CofE school. Can anyone comment on any of those in the area, or close by? It's a bit short notice, and we were hoping to have a look around some schools before the end of the term.
Any advice on family friendly areas to rent/buy would also be welcome.

Thanks!

You'll get responses if you post in the Education section

For secondary there’s Wren in N Finchley.

To be honest your unlikely to get a choice in that part of london. You'll be lucky if you don't have to take several busses to get there. St James in neighbouring Muswell Hill is welll thought of for CofE

What school years would your children be going into?

TheWashingMachine · 08/05/2019 23:33

Why C of E? There are some great Jewish schools round there.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 08/05/2019 23:47

Holy Trinity is the CofE primary, quite small, good reputation.

Washingmachine - Op has said they are churchgoers. Why would they want a Jewish school?

TheWashingMachine · 09/05/2019 13:19

Because there are some great jewish schools in the area, they can still go to church, surely the quality of education is more important than the religious outlook espoused by the school.

samG76 · 09/05/2019 14:14

Washing - but these schools are very difficult to get into, teach a lot of Jewish studies and Hebrew, and are are closed on Jewish holidays, which may be a bit of a problem if the parents are at work.

Schoolwise it's very hard to go wrong in that area.

PattyCow · 10/05/2019 07:07

Only on Mumsnet can you ask for a CofE school recommendation and be challenged as to why you don't want a school from an entirely different religion....

Debenhamshandtowel · 10/05/2019 07:24

You don’t want a school OP, why not try a nice hotel?...

Check out the admissions criteria of all the schools you are interested in. Some may have attendance at any church of a particular faith as an admissions criteria. Some may have attendance at one particular church only with no mention of an alternative for people who are moving into the area. The later would make your church attendance irrelevant.

I’d start a new thread in Primary Education or Secondary Education. You’ll get posters who are more knowledgable about the schools in the area.
