Starting a family... where should we buy a home?

Hi All, At the moment we live and work in Canary wharf. Looking to start a family and have a budget of £700-800k. We are looking for a 3 bedroom with good primary state school and access to green space. Although we enjoy having no commute living in Canary wharf, I would prefer to move to a place with more of community feel, access to independent cafes and culture. We don't want to be too far from work ... Where would you recommend?

In the SE, probably Blackheath, Greenwich, Honor Oak or East Dulwich.

In the SW, budget won't stretch as far, but potentially furzedown area.

Kingston/Twickenham/Teddington/Hampton - all 30 mins into Waterloo then W&C line onwards.... probably not the best commute to canary wharf but you'll get the best balance of outstanding schools and green space in SW.

Blackheath, Hither Green, Westcombe Park, Greenwich are stuffed to the gills with Canary Wharf families. Hither Green has lots of good state primaries. There’s an outstanding state in the centre of Blackheath village too.

If you are working in Canary Wharf would have thought Walthamstow might be better to be East. There are cheaper and more expensive parts. Lots of green space close by Wanstead flats, marshes parts that don't feel like being in London but also good transport links, lovley cafes, shops, restaurants. Lots of victorian 3 bed housing stock.

OP, what is your maximum commute time?

Morden? Northern Line to Bank in 30 mins.
