Transport museum in Covent Garden is interesting and not pricey.

DH and DS also went to a 'Bond in Motion' display nearby which was apparently very good.

I was disappointed in the Science museum, much of the interactive stuff didn't work and you had to pay extra for some of the exhibitions.

Can you tell we are just back from a trip??

Caprianna · 19/03/2017 21:41

Harrods ice cream bar or pizza bar with singing waiters.

RachelRagged · 19/03/2017 21:48

The Army Museum in Chelsea is nice , they have refurbished it since I last went so probably looks even better

I agree with PPs who said London Transport Museum , its reasonably priced for what it is . Very good.

ElBandito · 19/03/2017 21:49

HMS Belfast.
Monument

This place....

www.rcseng.ac.uk/museums-and-archives/hunterian-museum/

It's only open until May and my DD absolutely loved it. Free and relatively unknown - you can easily spend an hour/hour and a half here.

crumpet · 19/03/2017 21:54

Lego shop
HMS Belfast
Hamleys
Changing of the Guard
Soane museum
Royal Court of justice

VioletLips · 19/03/2017 21:54

Slattern, Bond in motion could be just the thing, will look more into this.

Is there dress code for Harrods?

Science Museum could be a possibility but not good that interactive stuff didn't work!

Museum of childhood, this sounds interesting too, off to Google.

Aquarium & Skygarden, another couple to add to the check list.

Thank you all, need to plan an itintery as we're only there for 2 days! Got to pack as much in a possible.

Is Oxford Strreet worth a walk down with a 10 year old?

I.am a Londoner on my current wish list is
The iris istallation in North Greenwich and the museum of childhood Bethnal green. We also went to the crystal museum on the north side of the Emiretes cable car.

VioletLips · 19/03/2017 21:59

Sorry, just spotted your posts, Enid & Crumpet.

Enid, is this a surgical Museum? How old is your dd? I can imagine ds would love anything like this.

HMS Belfast, yes, we didn't get to do this last time so this might be a potential, thank you.

enid I've never heard of the Hunterian before. Looks like it will reopen in 2020 so I'll make a mental note to visit then.

noitsnotme · 19/03/2017 22:00

DS (9 at the time) enjoyed Ripleys. We also did the dungeons which I thought might be too scary for him, but he really enjoyed it, despite having a bad stomach bug that day Sad

VioletLips · 19/03/2017 22:01

Stillwish, the crystal Museum, ds is an avid rock collector, is this one for kids? He loved the rock section of the natural history museum.

Never heard of the Iris Installation either, going to check this out too.

VioletLips · 19/03/2017 22:02

Oh yes, thought about the Dungeons, noitsnotme. Will check out prices for this.

Lol harrods was my favourite part of London at this age and it's just a shop you can wear whatevs

FourToTheFloor · 19/03/2017 22:08

London museum
Ripley's believe it or not
Monument

These are some things my dd1 has liked but is a bit younger. We go in quite regularly but we enjoy just being in London. Then we find a nice pub for a drink or two Grin

VioletLips · 19/03/2017 22:10

Think we might have to venture over to Harrods, I've never been either. Will I need a second mortgage though? Anything worth buying in there?

JoJoSM2 · 19/03/2017 22:10

No dress code for Harrods - it's a shop ;)

llhj · 19/03/2017 22:12

Science Museum is amazing I think. The Learning Lab on top floor totally hands on.

VioletLips · 19/03/2017 22:23

Four, we loved it last year! Walked our legs off. Struggled getting served in a couple of pubs because of having ds with us, can't remember where exactly, think Kensington, it was after 6pm. Found that a bit frustrating.

OP posts:
VioletLips · 19/03/2017 22:24

JoJo Grin you never know.
