Hi all, can you share you experience of complaining to your school about the quality of remote learning offered? Any tips/suggestions?
My primary school sends a wad of files, lengthy instructions. Now and again a white rose video is added.
I've 2 friends who work in secondary education. One state, the other private. The local comp does 1 hr LIVE PER DAY, followed by 4 pre-recorded lessons done by the teachers from the school themselves!!! Every single day. No copouts relying on white rose, Oak Academy.
The one in a private school told me the kids get 6 hrs live per day, in effect meaning there's no change to a regular school day. Apparently she's paid only a bit more compared to a local comp but her kids have a massive discount in attending the school she teaches at.
Brushing aside the difference between state and private above, there's a clearly a massive difference between the quality of education between the local comp I know and the primary school my kids go to. It's not right.
I've written a polite and constructive complaint to my primary explaining their approach isn't working for me, as a single parent. I cannot spend the whole day teaching my kids, cook a healthy lunch, and work myself. I've asked for a call to help us find a solution. 1 day on, nothing back from the school.
I'd appreciate anyone who has been down all of this already with any recommendations from experience.
I called Ofsted for guidance, and they said the route was headteacher, governors, DoE and eventually them.
