Hi all,

As everyone else, my three year old has been off nursery (private not school nursery yet) and we've been doing his alphabet, numbers etc. but I feel like I could be doing more.

Does anyone have any recommended learning for a three year old?

Thanks in advance!

We've just been having a quick look through the age appropriate sections of the EYFS guide above and doing a few games/activities themed around the skills that DC1 isn't showing much of yet.

I think what you are doing sounds great. If you wanted, you could look into something like minifrench.com which runs live classes for dc during the lockdown. The first class was yesterday but I think they are still accepting new pupils.

Doing the alphabet and numbers sounds good! I have using these videos to help teach mine some phonics, will link down below! I have also been playing games to help count in a variety of ways. You could also look at shapes, colours and animals. www.youtube.com/channel/UClyxR0fgHj9_4ApFNNMaepg?view_as=subscriber

Take care

My just turned 4 year old obviously is not in school nursery. We have been doing phonics, blending cvc words, spelling, letter and number formation, cutting skills, a weekly over and over book, fine motor/hand strengthening activities and number work - counting, one more, one less and part part whole.

Thank you all! I will defo check out what you’ve sent. I’m just concerned what I’m doing isn’t enough because he’s not actually talking yet either, he can say some things enough to understand (sometimes), I’ve been putting it down to him being bilingual but I dunno anymore 🤷‍♀️
