Private schools charging during Covid

Does anyone know the justification for private schools attempting to charge full fees during Covid 19, for sub standard online learning platforms.

Why can teachers not be placed on Furlough and insurance be claimed ?

Do we need to start naming and shaming these institutions with no morals ! Did they ever have our children's interests at heart? How can the charity commission not hold them accountable and why are they allowed to be run purely like businesses ?

@LuckyMarmiteLover someone at DHs work compiled it. I assume it’s based on colleagues/friends. We haven’t heard from our DCs school yet.

My children's school has announced no fee decrease, told us if we withdraw our children for the term they will need to repeat the year (not the UK and they can do this) and suggested putting fees on a credit card if we're struggling.

This is a school that makes a significant profit every year.

We're all in it together of course.

You poor thing some of these private schools are showing themselves for who they are, which country is the school ?

Is it part of a UK brand ?

My school are making out that complaining about the fees is absurd, so strange I'm sure if the building burnt down and there was no online teaching some how it will be duty to pay too ! The online teaching we are receiving are power point slides and some emails from teachers . I have friends in state schools using zoom and speaking with teachers in the USA.

I'm not sure I deserve the 'poor you'. I'm just pissed off and for various reasons I can't flounce and move my kids in September which means there is actually nothing I can do. A lot of people are in a far worse position than us - we paid school fees up front and we are a two income family and we can deal with the income cuts so far. In terms of people having sympathy in the world at the moment I should be not far off bottom of the list (but thanks!).

It is a well-known British school (who are conveniently passing all the blame onto the local shareholders, despite the fact that they could also reduce their franchise fee if they wanted to). Not going to say country as too identifying.
