Unfair to be charged full term fee when the child is not there.
The school is trying to run a business along side being a registered charity??
The whole business sector is having to take the impact of the virus, why is schooling so different and why do parents have to pay, even though their work and pay patterns are affected...

what are peoples thoughts

I think that if you're having problems you should speak to your bursar ASAP, the same as you would at any other time. Schools need to retain their staff, and many are actually open providing care for key workers' children.

I presume you're still paying for gym membership, car insurance, supermarket delivery pass etc that can't currently be used?
Your effectively paying a retainer on your child's school place. You may give notice if you wish. If we did this at our school, there'd not be much chance of getting a place a year down the line when things pick up.
