Come on over to Mumsnet’s corona classroom . Are you feeling more Miss Trunchbull than Miss Honey? Don’t know your Plantagenets from your Pythagoras? Many of you have said you’re feeling a touch overwhelmed at the prospect of home-education and could use more guidance. If that sounds familiar, then Lockdown learning is the place for you to share advice, tips, and resources. Or if you just need some moral support from your fellow Mumsnetters and a virtual scream into the wind during the school closures.

So if you're wondering when Year 3 maths got so complicated and you’ve forgotten all dates of ancient battles apart from that one in 1066, then we hope this new section will help put things in perspective.

Parents who are old hands at home-education are MOST welcome to pop over and share your wit and wisdom. Flowers

Thanks, everyone - and good luck. Star

For maths, we've been enjoying these interactive live videos by a teacher at bright idea education. It's only once or twice a week and very short, but has helped massively in making my dc feel motivated, being able to interact with the teacher and work on maths problems together. Definitely more helpful than the fancy online worksheets that feel so overwhelming at times

Hello, maybe some of you might like it. I made a little show for kids about emotions and corona. Next week we will talk about homeschooling. Hopefully we can reach some children who would love to talk more about the emotions and corona or who would love to do a nice activity about emotional resources during corona.

Greets,

This is a really helpful quizz to see how satisfied you are with the household chores split, so both people take it and invite to have a positive conversation thefeministshop.com/blogs/the-feminist-shop-blog/shared-household-chores-quiz

And this is with suggested couple activities to address it and get a better balance thefeministshop.com/blogs/the-feminist-shop-blog/how-do-you-split-household-chores-fairly-resources-and-activities

Hello there, I am a third-year university student with dyslexia now working on my Final Major Project at university and I have chosen to explore the area of special educational needs (SEN) and virtual learning platforms. My project investigates tools that can be used with online learning platforms to help teacher support learners with SEN in an online classroom. I have created a survey which I would really appreciate your participation with to assist me with the project, and if you know of any learners with a SEN condition(s), I would also value they input with the survey.

Please is anyone else frustrated beyond hell with homeschooling? My husband is on furlough and I am a key worker with Sunday and Monday off. In honesty my husband doesn't do much in the way of homeschooling which is frustrating in itself so come monday when I'm home my 9 year old is stressed as he seems to have 'forgotten' EVERYTHING and I'm utterly stressed as I'm clearly the bad parent and I cannot believe how far back he has gone. I'm at the end of my tether and I dont know what to do. Please help if anyone can.

Check out free maths resources on my instagram channel whymathsgcse

I'm a math tutor and I'm making these free maths resources available for Y8-10. There are 1-minute bitesize video everyday to learn, with notes and quiz.

I think students this year are missing crucial teaching inputs during this period, especially from my understanding many schools don't have the proper set up to run lessons online. So I am starting my version of FREE maths group lessons, they are available throughout April and May, Wednesday 3:30pm and Saturday 10am. Happy to continue offer free help at home during this downtime.

Hello there, I've read the thread above and wondered if any of you could assist me with am project I am doing at university. I am a third-year student with dyslexia and working on my Final Major Project at University of Arts London. I've chosen to explore the area of special educational needs (SEN) and virtual learning platforms such as Zoom, Teams, Google Classroom and others. My project investigates tools that can be useful to online learning platforms in helping teacher support all learners in an online classroom. I have created a survey and would really appreciate your participation, and if you could circulate to other parents or students I would value they input with the survery. Thank you for your time. Its a very short two minute survey but could help enormously in supporting teachers with new online tools.

All information collected by the survey is for educational and research purposes only, it is anonymous and will be treated in strict confidence.

Anyone still doing home learning? I'm doing it at the weekends to try and supplement anything my 6 year old missed last year and to help reinforce anything from September so far. I'm just using twinkl and any resources the school happen to give out.
