Hi all,

For me this is day one of wfh and I feel like I will need a place to rant and get support.

DH is also at home. 20 month old is currently sleeping after keeping me up until 3am.

I have to get dressed, prep breakfast and move the lounge around before she wakes up.

I'm planning a strategically placed coffee around 9.

Worldwide everything's been impacted by coronavirus so waiting to log in before I know what's on the agenda.

What's everyone else planning?

Hi OP, I’m on day 4 today, as my DD’s school closed last Tuesday.
It’s been a bit up and down, one day I’m thinking ‘this is great to have so much time with DD’ and the next I’m tearing my hair out.
Main problem here is trying to keep DD (age 8) off screens, as she’d watch TV or play computer games all day if she could.

Trying to supervise her school work / getting into a routine is really tricky, and I haven’t been able to get any work done yet.
Really have to get some done today.

Good luck OP, let’s support one another!

I have a much easier time of it as mine are older. DH at home too. We are planning on starting at 9.00 (mine are very early risers, as am I- DH not so much!) with an exercise YouTube video then I'm following their class timetables with some lessons taken out or reduced(pe, dt, re etc) so it can fit into the morning, lunch then quiet reading after lunch, some chores then they can go on their tablets/ play or whatever. This may change after a day a week.

We’re already two weeks in (in the EU). Last week schools and childcare were shut down and the week before two of our kids had to stay at home because of snotty noses.

DH and I are both trying to WFH with a 1, 3 and nearly 5 yo which means us having to tag team throughout the day. It’s really hard, but I know we’re lucky to both have jobs that can be done from home.

I think the key is to take it just one day or week at a time as I fear we’re in this for the long haul...

Noodle - Joe Wicks is doing PE every weekday on YouTube at 9am! I reckon it’ll be good for them to burn off some energy first thing!

chloe yes we've been looking at Joe Wicks previous kids stuff which they really like. Definitely best to try and burn off some energy in the morning!

Made it to midday!

I've no idea how I'm going to cope looking after 2 year old and working.
Currently do 3 days a week so I'm going to try and spread my hours over 5 days.
I feel like they'll be a lot of Peppa Pig on in this house.
DH is also off, but I feel like it's on me to try to manage it. But that's mostly in my head.
How's everyone else coping with working and looking after preschoolers?

How is everyone today?
DD is being v resistant to school work today, or anything which doesn’t involve TV/screens. I’ve asked her to do some reading, and said she can watch TV at 11am, so every 5 min she keeps asking what time it is...
I’m trying to get some work done, but flitting from one thing to the next.

@Gastonimo why do you think entertaining your DC is down to you and not DH??

We had a bit of a meltdown yesterday do they are doing a movie review from Disney +. Only problem is its taking up all the bandwidth so I cant work Grin
