I thought it would be useful to have a thread of bullet point ideas of things to do when you are at home with a two year old.

My little one will be two at the end of this month. We are staying at home mainly with some walks in the woods. The last two days she has enjoyed:

• washing up
• drawing circles (🤣big ones, small ones, tiny ones. She asked to do that again today)
• throwing balls in boxes
• musical instruments
• songs and books and jigsaws
• normal toys

Add your bulletin points to pool ideas.

  • baking
  • making art work to post to people in isolation
  • making a collage out of the junk mail that gets posted through the door
  • cosmic kids yoga
  • dance off

We may as well start on Christmas cards 😂

My and my 2.5 year old have so far:

• baking (measure ingredients first & have them in little bowls they can just tip into the main bowl to minimise mess/meltdowns!!)
• finding bugs in the garden
• making a castle out of a cardboard box & colouring it in
• lots of sticker books
• duplo
• printed a bunch of stuff off Twinkl which is currently free!
• tea parties with her teddies

Currently 37 weeks pregnant as well! 😅

Great ideas on here. I’ll be WFH with my 18 month old and need all the help I can get! He enjoys:
-bubbles
-climbing in and out of the washing basket and taking his toys for a rid in it
-empty cardboard box. Good for parking toy cars, drawing on, hiding in
-taking things in and out of a bag. Old handbag with chunky objects.

When I was little I enjoyed playing lava floor. Lots of cushions on the floor, you can only step on them as the floor is lava!

We built a den in the lounge from bed sheets and chairs and spent many hours arranging soft toys and cushions inside, then many hours knocking and asking to come in and play.

I think we'll do a den today as it's tipping down again. Thank you.

Maybe a wet trip to the park as at least it will be empty
