Visited a really nice farm today - thought I would share

Briarlands Farm Its right next to Blairdrummond safari park, Stirling.

It was really really lovely. Aimed at under 7's I would say - bascially huge big field, loads of bits and pieces to play on - big bouncy pillows, go-karts, the most amazing wooden slide/climbing frames, sand pit etc.

Was a really chilled day out, and could have spent longer there had we brought a picnic and not headed to Dobbies

I'd never heard of it before, but will def be heading back!

It looked fab when we passed last week, there was a sign up to say that from July to September they also have a Maize maze!

(we were on the way to the safari park)

Am going to try and add this to the "Days Out" category on the Local page with your comments - is that ok?

toucancancan · 01/07/2010 09:56

How much was the entry fee?

toucancancan · 01/07/2010 09:58

DUH!!! No need to reply I've just seen your link to their web site.

MmeLindt · 01/07/2010 09:59

That looks fab. Thanks for the tip.

It was IMO quite expensive, so worth taking a picnic and spending the day there - oh and you need to have socks on to go on indoor slides.. although their gift shop sells them

Still, cheaper than Blair Drummond, which is eye-wateringly expensive.

It also opens earlier than BD, so handy for a coffee if (like us) you turn up too early because your children insist on getting up at crack of blimmin dawn.

Actually, scrub that, I wasnt taking about this place, this place wasnt £££, I was thinking I had started this about Heads of Ayr park which was ££££, and not as much to do as Blair Drummond.

This place fab and cheap and near dobbies for cake salad.

I actually dont mind paying to get into Blair Drummond for some reason? Blardy Heads of Ayr cost us £25 for 2 adults and a 3 year old. Grrr

have you tried mabie farm park? i went to it a couple of months back and thought it was much better than heads of ayr and cheaper to think it was £20 for 2 adults and 2 kids and theres an additional charge for tractor rides etc. you can also buy food for the animals and theres animal handling sessions aswell.

geordieminx · 02/07/2010 15:40
