Induction at RD&E - how soon?

Im not overdue yet, but highly suspect I'll go overdue. How soon after going overdue do the RDE normally offer an induction? I cant recall from my ante-natal class if it was 10 or 12 days.

With my first it was 10 days iirc. I was induced and she was born at 11 days over. With my second I had a sweep instead, and gave birth also 11 days over, after a non induced labour. I well remember the frustration of being overdue, but haveing had expereince of induced and non induced births, I would go the natural route every time. As long as everything is OK with you and the baby, there is no medical need to induce. In France, iirc, a first pregnancy is acually expected to last 42 weeks.

I had a sweep at 1 week over and was booked for induction at 12 days over I think, but the sweep worked and she came 9 days late. Good luck!

Thanks girls. With just under 2 weeks to go till her due date Im trying to get my head round the fact that it could still be another 4 weeks b4 she is here, so knowing what to expect in terms of induction really helps. Thanks again
