Sleep Clinic - Contact Number

Hi does anyone have a contact number for the HV who runs the sleep clinic? I work so don't get to go to the baby clinic to look for a poster. After 19 months of no sleep I need to do something [weary smiley]. Also I'd be interested to hear if anyone has used it and if they now get some sleep?

I had this problem too. Working parents don't seem to feature in the minds of however designs this kind of provision. I called Romsey Mill, where a sleep clinic is held, and was given some HV phone numbers. Called repeatedly, left messages on all of them, never heard anything.

Sorry not to be more hopeful. Reckon you'd some good advice from MNers - is there a sleep board?

hedgepig · 20/05/2010 13:14

thanks umf I was starting to think there was nobody in Cambridge . There are sleep boards on MN, I have tried most things it's just DS2 has had some health problems and I want to talk to a real person to give me confidence that I am going in the right direction.

I went to Romsey Hill when dd was a baby and they were really good. Could you maybe take half a day off to go there?

hedgepig · 20/05/2010 16:20

thanks ruby I dream of zzzzzzzzzzzz!

I quite happy to take some time off tugamommy, I just need to know which days they are on and where (the location seemed to move about when I last saw a poster).

You could try calling 723077/723129 which is the no for the health visitors at Brookfields health centre. I think the lady who does the sleep clinics works there.

hedgepig · 20/05/2010 18:57

thanks summer I'll give them a try

Let us know if you get hold of them? We still have sleep problems at 3.5...

LaCerbiatta · 21/05/2010 09:05

I'll try to find which days it's on - I want to go next week as well for ds. Will post back.

LaCerbiatta · 21/05/2010 09:18

Cherry Hinton Childrens Centre - Fulbourn Old Drift: 4th Monday of the month, 1pm-2.30pm

Homerton Childrens Centre - Holbrook Road: 2nd Monday of the month, 12.30pm-2pm

Romsey Mill Children Centre - Hemingford Road - 3rd Thursday of the month, 10.30am-12pm.

So the next one is in the Cherry Hinton Centre this Monday. I might go there myself. Hope this helps.

OMG hedgepig, just looked in your profile and we work in the same area! I'm working (well, I'm on maternity leave) near London now, but really want to move closer to home. Maybe I'll end up where you are!

If you know of any vacancies in your company let me know!

hedgepig · 21/05/2010 14:33

thanks tugamommy hopefully I can get to one of them. I work in chemicals not pharma but if anything comes up I will let you know . How much maternity leave do you have left?

I've used them. The contact number is Cambridge 723129 (Kerry) or 249768 (Nikki). They were very helpful. Initially I went to one of the drop in sessions, but subsequently they came to my house twice and are going to call me for a follow up. I'm sure they'll be happy to chat on the phone.

NorkilyChallenged · 21/05/2010 14:49

Oooh.

Do they deal with sleep problems in all ages.

When dc were younger I just didn't want to be told to CIO so avoided.

Am now bonecrunchingly tired and could maybe use some advice (youngest just turned 2)

SummerLightning · 21/05/2010 15:23

Norkily, yes they do. I went once when DS was v v v small (too small for it really be useful but I was clueless first time mum) and there were 4 year olds etc there.

SummerLightning · 21/05/2010 15:26

Oh and I have Kerry round to talk about sleeping/eating issues at my house (not at clinic) and though she recommends controlled crying as one method of solving sleep probs she suggested others too.

LaCerbiatta · 21/05/2010 17:36

Hi hedgepig, I'll be going back to work end of September. I work in a pharmaceutical company but am sooooooooo fed up with the commute that I'll consider (almost) anything!
I actually have anxiety attacks thinking about the logistics of working full time, commuting for 3 hours a day and having dd starting school and ds starting nursery.... and they're in different parts of town!

hedgepig · 24/05/2010 10:38

sounds like a challenge tugamommy .

Thank you ladies for the numbers, I'm off to make some calls we has 4 hrs sleep in total last night and I will crash my car soon unlsee I can get some sleep
