Birthday party inspiration.....?

My DS will be turning 5 at the end of June.
I have absolutely no idea what to do.
He's asked for an Eddie Catz party but I'm a bit Not sure why but still a bit

Last year we had a lovely party at Cannizaro Park but now the parents tend to leave their children at parties now and I'm not sure I'm comfortable watching 15ish 5 year olds in such a big open space.

We don't want to spend more than £150 really.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Ithink you're right. Containment at this age is very important for your sanity! We used a brilliant entertainer last year and have booked him again and the pavilion in our local park this year so we can go inside of it's rainy or outside inthe fenced off garden if it's a nice day. My son will also be 5 and I figure this may be the last year we have a traditional party before we start getting into bowling and cinema trips etc.

He is Dan from Dantastic and he is great. I also saw another of their entertainers at a christening and he was really good too. They're all young rather than the slightly dodgy "uncle" type entertainers of my youth.

Hope that helps!

Hey Thom - It's Fruity here, I named changed a few months ago
Is that Wimbledon Park Pavillion you're talking about?
I'd imagine an entertainer is quite expensive?
We really can't spend more than £150 in total for the party.
How's the little one?
DS2 is a complete nightmare compared to DS1.
Destruction and noise seem to be his main hobbies at the moment. I've never known such a stubborn baby!

Hey Frazzle/Fruity! No, it's the pavilion in Cottenham Park where we live. The one in Dundonald Park is only £16/hr on Saturdays, which isn't bad.

Alternatively, have you considered the hell that is Wacy Warehouse? I always feel like I need a bath when I come out of there but DS1 loves it and I gather it's pretty cheap.

DS2 totally kamikaze! Mainly just a stunt baby at the moment but also dexpects to do everything DS1 does and gets very cross when he can't!

Thanks for your advise, we've gone for Dantastic. Weirdly, our good friends had him for their daughter's party today. We discovered last week that we'd booked the same entertainer!
He was really good and we've only got him for an hour and have hired out Christchurch hall in Colliers Wood. Worked out cheaper than Eddie Catz/Wacky Warehouse hell holes.

I think our DS2's have second baby syndrome...
