Do you have/know a cleaner you'd recommend?

I've decided that 2010 is the year to give in to any attempts at being superwoman and have realised that I cannot work, be a parent, mn and clean.

So, do you have a cleaner that you would recommend and an idea of hourly rate?

I'd probably want someone to come for a few hours once a week.

Thanks

hiya - i have a cleaner, Lisa (originally recommended by another MNer!!) She charges me £30 to do a 4bedroom house plus ironing (i dont need much ironing done). she is really nice and i trust her completely - when she was round and we were away for a week there was a problem with our toilet and she got her partner round to turn off the water supply. They have a family run company - her brother and dad do windows and her partner does carpet cleaning. Here is their website www.cleanintime.co.uk

Thankyou pooter - how long has she been with you for?

erm, about two and a half years?

Excellent - I'll give them a call this week

Do you have to pay when you go away? What about when they take holidays? Did you specify exactly what you wanted doing? Does she provide her only cleaning products? Questions questions

Their website says they start at £25 minimum for a visit. I've only got a 2 bed semi so only 6 rooms in total.

Can't wait to get a cleaner - I spent most of yesterday morning scrubbing my kitchen floor by hand as the bloody mop had broken.

no - if she comes and cleans she gets paid - if she doesnt - for whatever reason, she doesnt! It's only her doing the house cleaning so if they go on holiday (which isnt that frequently) you just dont get a clean.

Im DREADFUL at telling people what to do (even though im an ex v bossy teacher!) so i just said for her to do what she usually does - you may want to be a bit more specific.

She does bring everything herself including hoover and cleaning stuff.

hope it works out for you - i love having a cleaner - it makes me tidy up at least once a week

Excellent - that's great - fingers crossed they've got some availability!
