Very sad I know, use the car park at Fountainbridge and walk past it every day peering my nose in to see if its nearly finished.

V excited as don't like taking DS to Time Twisters as its so dark and big and Ratho is a bit far away, but really I do need to get out more if this is the big excitement in my life !

OMG the Ikea one was the only one my DS would go to when he was younger...the staff there are very professional. It was especially good when they had arts and crafts days.

My ds blows hot and cold about the Ikea one.

I do get annoyed that they have a telly in there though.

FFS the kids are in for 1hr max, surely they can amuse them for such a short time without a telly.

My ds came out one day and told me he had been so scared at something on the telly that he nearly cried. Seems like nobody noticed. And he was the ONLY CHILD in there at the time.....

Bookswapper · 25/02/2010 15:47

I had no idea they had a tv.
My Ds has never mentioned it!

mawbroon · 25/02/2010 16:05

Yes, they have one. Apparently they are only allowed to show U certificate films, but still, some of them are scary to wee ones.

In fairness, I have only seen it on in the late afternoon, but even so....

The tv screens in the wee play bit in the cafe annoy me too.

Hi, slightly off topic but how big would you say Monkey Bizness is compared to other soft play centres in Edinburgh as it looks fairly big from outside. I want to go to one for my 21st birthday and was wondering if it would hold enough entertainment for late teens and adults for 2 hours, bringing back childhood memories. I should really find a friend with a younger sibling that I could visit Monkey Bizness with to see for myself as I would feel a bit silly going on my own :P

Your views would be greatly welcome

Thanks

Hello Claire.

I must say as a frazzled mother I find it slightly odd that an adult would actually voluntarily want to go to a soft play, however I do remember finding it reasonably good fun the first 2 times I went, it's just the several hundredth visit that gets a bit wearing.

Monkey Bizness is on a par with Time Twisters size wise however they are designed for children and they close early evening. It would not be suitable for a group of young adults to be using the equipment at the same time as the children and in fact you probably would not be allowed to attend without DCs.

If this is something you want to arrange for your party, you might have better luck trying to arrange an exclusive booking of a smaller place in the evening. Ratho or Almond Valley come to mind, although they may be rather puzzled if you explain it is for adults.

Failing that I could lend you rookieboy and his Monkey Bizness pass for a couple of hours which should more than drain you of your desire to rampage through soft plays.

Hi, thanks. I was planning to hire exclusively anyways, definitely wouldn't be appropriate to have lots of adults running about during normal opening hours! I don't think they allow anybody in without a child anyways.

It's £195 to hire out for 2 hours after normal closing time. I have always had a love of soft play but this may frazzle as you say once I have children of my own, but hopefully that won't be for a while yet :P
