Is there any good childcare during independent school holidays - south Leicestershire?

My DD is 5 and in reception at an independent school, but as she has many more holidays than the state schools we are really struggling with childcare arrangements (we both work full-time).
It seems that all holiday clubs are aligned with state school holidays (which is fine, we would use them during those weeks) but what about the extra days/weeks at either end?, Most child minders with vacancies are not very interested in taking children for these random weeks (understandably). Sadly there are no grandparents to call on, and all friends/relatives also work full-time. Any suggestions would be welcome.

where in leicestershire are you????? have you looked at private nurseries? At 5 i would suspect they could still accomodate your child in with the 3/4 year olds and then in after school club!

Thanks for your thought. Unfortunately she is very reluctant to go back to a nursery as she now regards herself as a big girl. I speak to other parents at her school and many of them seem to be in the same situation, but are fortunate to be able to call on parents to help out (the school isn't much help frankly).

i think that would be your onlyoption or a childminder who is not full.

Have you considered a nanny just for school holidays? Many nannies look for temp work and some just work in school holidays.

Maybe consider a nanny who has her own child so a playmate for your daughter but also works out a little cheaper.

For an experienced and qualified nanny you would pay anything from £8-£12 an hr and for a less qualified and less experienced nanny for a nanny with own child you would expect to pay £6-£8 an hr.

you could try www.gumtree.com or could use an agency and I highly recommend www.kidsmatter.uk.com
