The Mumsnet Relay Marathon - raising money for Macmillan

I'm sure some of you will have seen the thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/other_subjects/885917-This-is-a-thread-about-how-you-could-help-tp about this.

Popsycal is organising it and the aim is for MNers to all pledge to run a distance of their choice the weekend of 27th March. I'm only just getting back to running after injury so will probably aim for 5k and if anyone wants to get together for this it would be great, we could do laps of the Meadows maybe. It's definitely aimed at runners and non-runners alike.

Anyone interested?

I can certainly come down and run - 10K maybe. BUT my sponsorship contribution would be minimal, I am already doing a sponsored event in the summer (again!) and there are only so many time you can ask people to sponsor you!

True, Gomez - I'm planning on doing the Edinburgh Marathon Relay again in May so am worried my rellies will all get donation-fatigue! BTW did you do the Loch Tay thing last year - how was it? DH has been talked in to doing a leg of it this year.

Mind you, I'm kind of assuming that if we do the running then the rest of mumsnet will be doing the sponsoring .

I did and I am again Liath. Tell him not to be a jess and do the whole thing.... It was a great day, much fun but unlike me I wasn't in the mood for much beer afterwards.

mawbroon · 06/01/2010 22:39

Sorry, count me out....

LOL, that makes it sound as if I might have considered it had I not been with child and broken ankle.

liath · 07/01/2010 07:40

But Mawbroon, the cast will be off by then and you'll have had the baby !

Oh dear, you have exposed my flimsy excuse.

sciennesmum · 07/01/2010 22:55

I'm in! I freaquently run in the Meadows.
although I do think my sponsorship contribution will be minimal... Don't have ANY rellies here (in this country...) nor am I working (stay@home mum) so I can't twist coworkers arms...
But running I love so yup..I'm in!
