Hi,

I am 31 years old and a first time mum to an adorable 8 week old little girl, I don't know any new mums and would love to meet some local ones for a coffee and a natter. I was planning on meeting some at antenatal classes but my little girl arrived early. I have been thinking about going to some baby groups but don't want to go on my own (I'm such a wuss).

Hi, I am 39 and have a 2.5 year old girl. I live in Didcot. There seems to be loads going on in and around Didcot so hopefully you will be able to find some things to do and people you get on with. I don't know which end of town you are, but I would really recommend the Chldren's Centre at Stephen Freeman School. There is also a children's centre across the road from the Wave and one on the Ladygrove.

If you want moral support I go to the Stephen Freeman children's centre most Friday afternoons and some Thursday afternoons, and if you want someone to help you find your way on your first visit then would be happy to do so, or am happy to meet for a coffee. I work 2.5 days per week btw (Mondays, Tuesdays and Weds mornings) but am sure somehitng could be fitted in on a non-work day.

Oh and congratulations btw!

btw this inlcudes information on the SF children's centre and a link to schedule (this one is for this school term but most sessions are the same each term and will give you an idea)

Hi and Congratulations!

I live in Sutton Courtenay, and would be happy to meet for a coffee if you fancy it. I have a DD who will be 1 on christmas eve and am expecting another baby in June. I don't know much about the groups in Didcot as I've tended to do things in Abingdon more, but would definitely recommend plucking up the courage to go and try some. I'm sure you'll find lots of new mums in the same situation.

Hi,

Thanks for replying jammypudding & greensnail.

I hope you are both well & all ready for christmas, I got the last of my presents in the snow yesterday!

Congratulations Greensnail hope the pregnancy is going smoothly.

I live on the ladygrove Jammy, I have heard some good things about the SF think once the weather is better I will try it. Have you been going there since your little girl was born? Is it mainly bf mums there or a mixture? as heard it more geared to bf mums.

Have a great christmas ladies & be lovely to meet up in the new year for coffee/hot chocolate if either of you fancy it?

Happy New Year everyone

Willow, I've been going to SF since DD was a few months old. I know they do support BF, but in my opinion they don't overly push it - the aim is to support each family as and when and how it is needed. Hope to see you there some day soon - let me know if you want to meet up to go there anytime. Or just look out for me there- I volunteer to help run the session some Friday afternoons if thay's any help.
