Anything good to do for toddlers in Glasgow?

I'm looking for some new things to do with DS in town. We were going to go to the Science Centre on with his wee pal on Monday but it's shut that day, so we are looking for new things to do.

We've been to Kelvingrove Museum, the Transport Museum and hang about garden centres etc looking at fish. I've not been to any soft play yet, are any any good?

DS is 2 years old BTW.

Thanks

botanics, there's a nice, cheap soft play at garscube and one at north gardner st i believe. goma is great in town, as is just going maaaaad running around princes square, k'grove, transport museum and obv the park... trying to think what else we do...

oh, pollok park. best park in europe award, absolutely amazing in autumn, and of course there's the burrell there too.

also, never discount the great joy of taking toddlers dressed in wellies and waterproofs out to splash in puddles, then getting home and throwing them in the bath with cups of hot chocolate. thrifty, exhausting and they're ready for bed by the end of it (offer a 'clean tea'), cannot be beaten.

Think it's Gallery of Modern Art geordie. You know the one in Royal Exchange Square?

Yup. Got ya. (((thicko geordie emoticon))))

Pollok Park is a winner. They've revamped the play area by the Burrell and it's got more stuff that toddlers can use than it used to.

The grounds of Pollok House are great for just running about - the wee hedges right by the house are like a mini-maze for a two year old.

Ducks in the river, horses, highland cattle. Fab.

If it rains then the Burrell cafe is nice and ds has got v interested in Islamic Art (well, the pc with the Islamic Art website on it).

Also the park by House for an Art lover is also great. Bellahouston swimming baths has a rapids bit and an outdoor pool on nice days! (I should imagine they've closed it for the winter by now). Gorbals pool is also great for children.

GOMA has a little children's corner with colouring stuff, games and books about art for little ones, cushions and the library & cafe down the stairs. It's a good place to spend an hour if you've been shopping and over-estimated your child's retail tolerance level.

Tollcross park has a children's farm and an outdoor/indoor play area. The swimming pool's right next door to the park but I've not used it.

Queens Park has the pond as well and a little soft play area in the Winter Gardens bit. Also a reptile house!

We had a great time this summer touring Glasgow parks.
