i'm a spanish mum too but my spanish is really rather rusty... i now only use it once a year when i visit my parents! i have 4 children, the youngest of which will be 2 at the end of february and who hears most of my spanish. i would be interested in meeting up so our little ladies can hear more spanish.

hi, we both spanish but we want to give our baby british nationality, how you guys came about doing it? it is really hard to get information. we only have a few weeks left.thanks

Hey Alle01, if you are both spanish, the child has been born spanish, so you will have to request the birth certificate in your nearest council and then go to the Spanish embassy so you register him/her there. sorry, susalonso, but you're wrong, being europeans and being stablished for a number of years in Britain, the child is british and can be registered in the council registry office as any other kid, there is no need to communicate anything to the spanish embassy.
my question is in order to do this what sort of documents or paperwork do i need? however, i suspect doing this will be easy, the difficulty will be in getting a passport in a timely manner, as the normal way of processing a passport without going to london only explains in case of having a british mother.
i would appreciate an answer from someone who is in similar situation or has done it.

I m also a spanish mum living in Burgess Hill but I m not so sure if anyone in this blog still interested on meeting up, specially when the conversation got diverted to passports and everything happened one year or so ago...anyway, si hay alguna mama/papa espanola por la zona, pues a lo mejor podemos quedar, yo tengo una nina de 13 meses.
I m also interested to meet up with brazilians in the area as I also speak portuguese.
