Hi there....I'm taking part in an NHS video to promote breastfeeding in Leeds . It'll be shown in doctors surgeries throughout Leeds. The crew will be filming in Leeds City Museum Cafe on Thursday from 1pm and have asked me to muster as many breastfeeding mums as I can to swell the ranks.

So, if you're free on Thursday why not pop along to the museum and do your bit for breastfeeding awareness in Leeds, and have your film debut

and feel free to come and say hello to me as well....I'll be the one looking harrassed and trying to rein in my toddler whilst BFing my 6mo old and talking to the camera!!!

Non breastfeeding mums are also welcome of course

Daisy - let me know if I might be of use helping with your toddler - could take a lunchbreak () and lend some hands...!

I'll try to be there, have some visitors who are leaving on Thursday, not sure what time yet, but if they're out of my hair I'll do my best!

Donk · 28/04/2009 10:17

Daisy
I am no longer breastfeeding (DS is 6) but if you need spare hands for anything, I am likely to be free (I am a supply teacher - it's a quiet time of year workwise). Just let me know.

LackaDAISYcal · 28/04/2009 10:20

Ooooh, thanks guys

The more the merrier, and any offers of entertaining DD gladly received

Shall I bring some carrots?

LackaDAISYcal · 28/04/2009 10:27

carrots?

It would keep your dd amused feeding them to donk... (Sorry, disclaimer - on another thread regularly with Donk...)

Donk · 28/04/2009 10:37

Carrots!
Mmmmmmmm.

(for a second I was worried that you meant you would feed the toddler to me!)

LackaDAISYcal · 28/04/2009 16:22

lol...thought I was losing my marbles for a bit there, desperately trying to think what the carrot reference meant and coming up with nothing

I'm in Leeds and can make it on Thursday

Am making a concious effort to get out and about after 6 months of post-natal hibernation so would be good to meet some local mnetters!

LackaDAISYcal · 28/04/2009 16:44

I saw your other thread Bunny . It would be lovely to meet you.

Yay! See you Thursday then!

And thanks for the tip on the group in meanwood.

After a bit of research I'm off to one in Horsforth tomorrow morning and we've joined up for Sign and Sign in Headingley starting this Friday!

Have been limited to public transport until now so I'm loving being able to get out and about!!

mistlethrush · 28/04/2009 22:19

BUnny there's a lovely music group at the church hall in Headingley Bee Sharp on a Friday - not a 'national' one that is set up - person based in Leeds has done her own and I found it a lot more relaxed, and able to take more account of what was happening in the room...

(Sorry, hijack over - might come and poke my head in to see if any toddlers need rounding up or donkeys need feeding carrots on Thursday!)

Donk · 29/04/2009 17:42

I'm really sorry Daisy - the agency have just 'phoned with a day's work in York. It's such a rare commodity at this time of year that I can't really turn it down.

I hope you have a successful and enjoyable time...

...and I was so looking forward to feeding Mistle some of the snails from my garden!

mistlethrush · 29/04/2009 18:16

I've got plenty thanks Donk - REALLY don't need anymore!!!

Daisy - still happening tomorrow 1pm in the cafe?

mistlethrush · 30/04/2009 14:26

Daisy - apologies - got caught just as I was about to leave, and thought that arriving 35mins late would probably not help very much. Really sorry, hope it went well.

Donk · 30/04/2009 19:21

Daisy - do let us know how it all went. I was thinking of you as I ate lunch!

NatGos · 30/04/2009 22:30

Hope it went well for you. I just stopped breastfeeding my DS last month (at 19 months old) so I wouldn't have been any use to you, but I hope it went smoothly.

Reggiee · 01/05/2009 20:09

Daisy - only just seen this. Hope all went well yesterday.

Really sorry for lack of communication - dd had chickenpox over Easter, then ds was born just over a week ago (very quickly - 3 hr labour so got to hospital at 10cms which evaded most of the potential nightmare intervention )

I'll drop you an email in a couple of weeks once I've found my feet.
