Hi all its eeny here now hereidrawtheline. Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I have sort of dropped off the radar for a long time. Partly for ages I was not on MN at all as it was really winding me up! So I took a loooong break. Then life was too much for me to do it. Then I needed to come back because DS had some obviously emerging special needs & I needed help & info. So I namechanged and came back. I just wanted to tell you all who I actually was as you are such a lovely lot. DS has ASD and we are as a family adjusting everything and its taking a lot of hard work. I would love to see you all again but as always me getting to meet ups is a bit impossible. Equally I couldnt have everyone over here again as it would really upset and freak out DS to have so many children in our house at once. So socially I am pretty limited at the moment. Monday and Thursdays he has playgroup & pre-school and every day we have to be here from around 12-3 to nap so that is pretty much what I am up to at the moment.

Oh and I have moved house since I last hosted the meet up! Have a lovely bungalow now with a garden which is FAB. I have 2 cats, 4 rabbits (outside now) and 4 degus (dont ask) so if your children fancy a wildlife trip come round to mine!

Let me know how you all are. Hope well.

Hi Eenybeeny Hereidrawtheline! I was wondering where you'd gone.Weren't you in Coggeshall? As you can see from our threads, the next meet-up is at Saz's in Kelvedon on a Friday.Would that be possible?

Nice to hear from you again.Hope to meet up again soon.

I'm sure the others will be along soon, unless they are all tucked up

(Ps.I was NurseJo)

Mung · 20/02/2009 22:05

Hi.

Not tucked up yet Sawyer...but will be soon. Shouldn't you be the one in bed resting?

Sounds like you are pretty busy.I am glad that you managed to move. Are you still in Coggeshall?

I used to teach at a school with a special unit for children with ASD. I had one wonderful boy in my class for 2 years who was mainly in mainstream school and he was such a fab linguist. I have such fond memories of him that I wanted to share it with you. I remember him standing up and doing an assembly about what it was like for him to have ASD...it was such an eyeopener and a real joy to listen to. I hope your DS is enjoying preschool.

Sawyer64 · 20/02/2009 22:08

Yes Maam! Been resting all week.Hope you are feeling rested too Mung.Off to bed in a while.

Saz126 · 20/02/2009 22:11

Hi Sawyer and Mung, haha, we are party animals on here on a Friday night!
Would be great if you can make it Friday, Hereidrawtheline.

purpleflower · 20/02/2009 22:14

Hi hereidrawtheline, I read the email last night but haven't had a chance to reply yet. I hope things are looking brighter for you soon

hereidrawtheline · 20/02/2009 22:42

hi all

purple no worries about not replying I know you are very busy! Give your gorgeous ones a kiss for me please.

Mung thank you for saying that about the ASD boy. Its lovely to hear. DS is dare I say it totally brilliant and charming & lovely so I have high hopes for him. but he is most definitely autistic which is still a shock to the system. But we are learning to cope and although I am a SAHM I feel like I am doing 80 hour weeks as I never ever ever stop either directly caring for him & helping him or staying up all hours sorting things out for him. Right now I am tediously writing every single thing down that is happening to provide to doctors etc I bought myself a really pretty journal to do it in to soften the blow but have had to take a break as I got hand cramp. Other than that I am making picture charts for him & research & reading up and god knows what else trying to sort him out so he is happy. He is very very verbal too so his ASD is either HFA or AS.

sawyer this may be a really stupid question but you are a nurse, arent you? I mean I know you were nursejo but you are actually a nurse arent you? I was just wondering if you knew anything about pneumonia. sorry to talk shop but I am recovering and my breathing is so shit I am getting paranoid I have emphysemia or something. I dont smoke though. Anyway ignore me if you need to it sounds like you may be recuperating from soemthing too?

Yes I am a Nurse hereidrawtheline.

My only experience with Pneumonia is my DD1 had it last January and was hospitalised for 48 hrs for Intravenous Antibiotics.

It took her some tome to recover, maybe a month and her immunity was pretty low,so i had to keep her away from everyone for a few weeks. Her breathing was ok afterwards, but she was pretty lethargic.

It is quite debilitating, hence why there is now a vaccine for the Elderly (mainly) and one for under 2's as it can be very serious.

Pneumonia is often a complication of a pre-existing condition or infection, and is triggered when an person's immune system is weakened, most often by a simple viral upper respiratory tract infection or a case of 'Flu.

Pneumonia can be caused by bacteria, viruses, mycoplasma, and fungi.Obviously a Pneumonia caused by bacteria can be treated quickly with Antibiotics, the other causes just have to "clear" by themselves, which is very slow.

It may be a good idea to be seen and checked again,as you may not be "recovering" properly,or may have a secondary infection, such as Bronchitis etc.

HTH,I'm ok just recovering from a gynae op (TMI )

hereidrawtheline · 21/02/2009 13:03

thanks sawyer & sorry again to talk shop. My good GP is away til Monday and all week I have been stuck with the horrible GP who would as soon see you dead as even turn around in her chair to examine you. So other than turning up at the hospital I am pretty much having to wait til good GP gets back.

My breathing is certainly better but still not great. And I am so so so tired. I cant believe this but I just woke up! Its 1:00 pm! And I feel like a zombie. I am just so tired I cant believe it. And I am scared as DH is going back to work Monday so my days of having help are very numbered.

Anyway! Dont you worry about it you have enough on your plate by the sound of things! And best of luck recovering! Thanks for the advice.

hereidrawtheline,if you still not feeling good, probably better to see your "Out of Hours".

Have you used this service before? You ring your surgery (when they are shut)and you will be forwarded to an "admin-type" person, who will take details (and vet the severity) and get the doctor to ring you back.

He/she will then give you an appointment, for me, it was at the Walk-in Centre, although there may be other venues, as you are further away.

It will not be one of your GP's,sometimes this is better.

Hopefully you won't have to wait.I have done this twice with the DC's,once I was seen at the appointment time, and the other time I waited 45 mins.
Wish you better.

lucyfer2000 · 22/02/2009 12:19

Hello mrs draw the line! (could you have thought of a longer name!!). Sounds like you are really run down and poorly. I hope you are feeling better soon - sounds like you need a really good rest (that's great advice when youv'e got no chance isn't it!?).

We will certainly pop around to see your farm some time. do you still have my mobile number? I have lost yours because i lost my phone. My number remains the same though because they gave me a new SIM. Think i've got your email address at work actually so no worries.

Anyway take care,
xx

hereidrawtheline · 23/02/2009 11:31

I am much better now thank you! Still more tired than usual and a little bit short of breath but its like night and day I am so much better. Thanks for your advice sawyer. How are you doing?

Lucyfer I know I did a ridiculously long name! People on the SN board often shorten it to HIDTL or herei. I dont have your number anymore I have lost nearly all of my contact details! Can you email me? senatorvass at gmail dot com. Would be lovely to see you sometime!

Just spent a lovely hour out in the garden with DS mucking out the rabbits and collecting rocks. It is SO nice to finally have a garden!! I love it!

I'm fine,thankyou herei!

I'm glad you are feeling better, look after yourself and listen to your body telling you to rest,it does take time to get over.

I remember moving from my flat to a house with a garden when DS was 2.6,really appreciated it.Enjoy your garden.

MadameCastafiore · 23/02/2009 12:01

Hi HIDTL - there is a fab school for autistic children in Stanway - one of my friends works there - it is called Deucecroft - maybe worth looking into it - I think your child has to be statemented and you have to put the school on the statement thingy before it is submitted to the EA.

JentlyDoesIt · 23/02/2009 17:50

Hi HIDTL, how you doin? Sounds like you have rather a lot on your plate at the moment

New house sounds fab and the zoo too We moved from a 2nd floor flat to this house when DS was 10 months old and the garden is FAB! We were all out playing on Friday morning, it's just great!

Hope you are doing ok with ploughing through all the autistic stuff. There is a really good book that my friend has as her DS2 is Aspergers and ADHD. I can get you the name and author if you like. It really helped me to understand Harry IYSWIM???

Much love. xx

hereidrawtheline · 26/02/2009 11:35

Thanks for the school name Madame! I will look into it. I am hoping DS can go to MS but its way too much early days to know and he is also so young. We are lucky he has been DX so young as we can start sorting things out and setting them in motion now before the hell of it gets too stuck in mud!

Jently hi! How are you? I have got a lot on my plate flippin heck yes I have but I am getting there. It is a lot to take in. But it isnt all gloom & doom. I would love to know the name of the book you read. I have ordered 4 and 2 have arrived and they are brilliant.

It is soooooo good having a garden -
oh! That reminds me! I got a FAB metal wheelbarrow (child sized) and garden tool set with apron, gloves, tools etc off ebay and including couriour it only came to £23 (buy it now) We have hidden it in the shed and are going to give it to DS this weekend but if anyone wants the link to get one let me know! It is such good quality and soooooo much less than other ones. At the Dutch Nursery they have just the wheelbarrow for £28 so I am so pleased with my bargain!! DS is so into gardening and machines like wheelbarrows, diggers etc.
