Hello Dunfermline mums, I'm moving to the city next year & wondered if you could tell me please - what's to do for mums/dads and little ones in the city and surroundign areas?? I'm moving from Glasgow and quite frankly I'm terrified of missing all the fun we currently have here, hence planning ahead. I found Play Planet, Kingdom of Fun on my last visit to D/fermline and have seen some groups advertised on here (messy play, tiddlywinks) etc but what's your view on the best places to go? If you've any local tips and ideas it would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Stephanie :-)

Hi Stephanie,

there is alot to do in dunfermline pittencrief park aka the glen is a great place to take the kids with 2 playparks, open spaces, greenhouse, squirrels and peacocks. the cermaic experience is good, lots of mothers and toddlers groups. What do you do in glasgow and i'm sure we can point you to an equivalent

cheers

Hello, Thanks so much for your reply. I went past the park the other day and it looks amazing. I love outdoor walks and would love to live near to that park to avoid using the car so much. We have a great soft play area in one of the glasshouses attached to a local park here in Glasgow and it's a very relaxed atmosphere, we also have great theatre and music venues which offer events for little ones, would there be anything like this in Dunfermline do you think? I suppose my greatest wish would just be to meet like minded easy going, active mums who like to do lots of fun activities with their kids. We are curently looking at properties to buy and thinking of nearby schools and I'm started to feel a bit more excited and less scared! Steph :-)

The Carnegie hall which is on your 1st left as you come off the sinclair roundabout (the big roundabout) towards the town and that does lots of kiddie things, panto, harry and his bucketfull of dinasours etc etc. I'm a childminder and a mum of 2 (3 and 8 weeks) and because of that i'm always out and about trying to find fun and exciting things to do, expecially ones that means i can stand back and keep and eye on them all. There are plus points to so many areas in dunfermline to live and for schools. How old are your kids?

Glad your a bit less scared and more excited, dunfermline is a really nice town and most people are really friendly. just to mention in the ceramic experience (about 3 mins in car or 15mins walk from the glen)it also has a very small soft play but your kids can play there while you have a coffee and you don't have to buy anything at the time although it's hard to resist...

i hope that helps
