Pumpkins there's a great place at Garscube which would be reasonably local to you, though not sure about the public transport. Garscube Playrooms. It's a bit tricky to find and you have to join, but v well equipped. I went once with WeeOnion - not sure if she went back. We're a bit far from there now so I never joined in the end.

Haven't been to the Garscube Playrooms but heard they are really good. You'd get the No.66 right along Anniesland Rd/Gt Western Rd but not exactly sure where it is from there.

Hang on... www.garscubeplayrooms.co.uk/ seems they've got their own website.

I occassionally go to Cheeky Monkeys along Dumbarton Rd on the way to Clydebank, No.62 for that one.

I'm in Scotstoun by the way so not so far away

I think the one near Lidl is a different one - swamp-something? Can that be right? You need Tallulah or one of the other west enders. But it's quite near there - sort of up behind Maryhill Road.

The only problem I had with it was that my two were both pretty small at the time, and it was a bit difficult to keep an eye on them as there are three rooms, so unless (hahahahaha) they wanted to play on the same sorts of things you had to try to be in two places at once. Would be easier once you got to know people there or if you went with a pal.

I thought you lived on the southside ?

pumpkinscantdancethetango · 18/10/2008 10:25

Nope I work on the southside, live in westend and always used to work in westend. Now Im leaving southside job and coming back to westend baby yay!!!!! Cant wait, working 8-6.45 in southside is just awful. I have intentions of walking to work now

heymammy...I live in scotstoun too

oooh yes your right thats the swamp, thats quite good too. Will have a look at play rooms website thanks.

pumpkin - garscube is great. £10 for annual membership and then it just costs £1 per visit to cover the toy fund. it is mainnly run by local women and has very much a community feel to it. there are three rooms kitted out differntly - a soft play room, a larger toys and dressing up room and then the crafts room with a microwave / sink so you can bring your own food etc.

i think the easist way is to come up garscube road. there will be an industrial estate on the right and a school on your left. just after the school - set back from the road and with an outside playground is garscube and cowcaddens nurseries. the play room are part of this big red building. you go through the gates and aim for the left hand door. ring the buzzer and someone will let you in to go upstairs.

good place for a wet day when you are all hitting cabin fever. you can literally spend hours there and make your own cuppas for 30p!

heymammy · 18/10/2008 22:06

that's good info weeonion, I'm going to check the place out once dd1 is back at school.

kirmcc · 24/10/2008 09:52

if you are near a train station, pure mayhem in bridgeton is easy to get to-its opposite the station there

kirmcc · 24/10/2008 09:55

or if you are going the partick way, the 57 bus will take you to whale of a time in the southside or you can get the underground to st georges cross and walk to jurassic jungle.

pumpkinscantdancethetango · 24/10/2008 10:13

Monkey madness is the best softplay in the area, the Swamp in Maryhill was closed for ages, but havent been back to check as MM better for toddlers. If you got the train at Jordonhill the line may take you close to MM although I am not sure if that is the same line?

Nyx · 02/11/2008 00:33
