thanks dani. It seems like such a good idea. I am surprised there are no other branches. We live in wimbledon but thinking it is worth the trip.

Just wanted to make fellow parents in Richmond and surrounding areas know of my shocking experience today with this dentist. We were told by our normal dentist that our 4 year old needed an emergency tooth extraction under sedation (aka gas and air).

DO NOT USE THESE MUPPETS if you are in an EMERGENCY situation. Absolutely no help.

YOU HAVE BEEN warned in an emergency AVOID AVOID AVOID. All they want to do is book a consultation and then re-book emergency procedures. WHAT A JOKE.

Let me help you. They told me to go to Happy Kids!! How about that! They are so bad they are referring you to the competition!!

My child was in severe pain. These guys DID NOT help. Their emergency procedure is to do a consultation first! And then (when they have decided how much money they want to charge) book a follow up. This is incredibly un- child friendly behaviour. The dentist I spoke to was not even willing to see my child. No Compassion, no care in the world, no help for children who are in pain.

  1. They were NOT even willing to see my child, so they didn’t see the swelling, my child had been on antibiotics for over 72 hours. So how can they made a judgment on the phone is beyond me. YOU CANT! We had been in and out of A&E for 72 hours and they didn’t care!
  2. They DID NOT even take a look at the referral letter I had. It was a true EMERGENCY! They didn’t even offer to let us come and be seen. Apparently fully booked. Even in extreme case like this NO HELP.
  3. However, they told me to go to their competitors, Happy Kids. Happy Kids opened up an appointment, moved people around looked at the referral and guess what went the EXTRA mile for a child in pain. Something Toothbeary should have done.
  4. We were in A&E and the doctors there said we needed a dentist with child friendly facilities. This Dentist IT NOT the place.
  5. Their rational for not looking at my child was they wanted to go home early. (23 Dec). Instead of looking at his swelling, they turned us away.

For anyone that reads this , trust the advice the Toothbeary dentist gave me and go to their competitors HAPPY KIDS.

Blimey, if you're as mad as you sound in that post I think any business would have referred you elsewhere just to get rid of you.

Why revive a 10 year old thread just to slag off a business that has given you the hump?

It seems to me the best dentist to take your kids to is a general family dentist, so you can all go together. Much more convenient, and your kids can then see how normal it is for everyone to have dental treatment.

Besides, if you take them somewhere called "Tooth Beary" you'll only have to find a new dentist when they're old enough to realise the name is babyish or are too old to be considered a child. I expect they charge a premium for all that "child friendly" usp fluff too.
