Changing nurseries - advice needed

Dd is in a lovely nursery at the moment - the girls who look after her are fantastic and dd seems to be happy.

However, there are a couple of problems. The major one is that dd just doesn't sleep when she's there. She is only 11mo and naps for at least 4 hours a day when she is at home (she likes her sleep) - but on a really bad day at nursery she can have only 10 mins of sleep in a whole day! There is no dedicated sleep room that is quiet and dark which I think is the main problem.

there are a couple of other wee niggles - like feeding honey to under ones (not so worried about dd as she's nearly one but there are younger babies) - and just a general feeling that they don't keep up to date about what babies can and can't eat!

I am loathe to move her beacuse I like the carers and the nursery has a lovely atmosphere. I would hate to disrupt everything only to find that I've moved her to somewhere with the same or different problems. I just want her to get more sleep - especially as I may have to put her ointo nursery for 4 days a week (at the moment she is only in for 3)

Just wanted to hear any recommendations for fantastic edinburgh nurseries - ideally on the south side and with parking on the streets nearby?

Just testing the water really .............

Hi meep where are you on the south side? I know a very good nursery in Kingsknowe. Of course that may be the one your DD already goes to!

Hi Janos - wrong part of the southside - I'm more Cameron Toll way

But if we ever move to Kingsknowe - I will know who to get in touch with!

Strawberry Hill is Ok but not fantastic (they've done really stupid things like giving whole garpes to the children) but the nursery nurses on the whole are pretty good.

I looked at Stawberry hill and was put off by the size of it! When we were in the baby room they didn't have enough highchairs for all the babies and this wee lad was sat in the play room on his own looking a bit lost. Eek about the grapes!

Maybe I'm just looking for perfection - dd only had 10mins sleep again today but they assured me they had tried everything to help her get to sleep but she just refused (bit like at 1am last night really )

Thanks for all your feedback!
