Where to move to with 5 & 2 year old Redhill/Earlswood/Reigate

Hello,

My husband and I are looking to move out of London to a greener space with good schools for our 2 & 5 year olds. Close enough to a station for access to London. Looking for a 4 bed house, ideally period property. Under a bit of pressure as our house is sold STC. We’ve looked at some houses in the earlswood / Redhill area and love the green spaces. My daughter would be going into year 1 in September so a bit worried about how easy it’ll be to get her into a local school. Are there any areas or schools to avoid? Also any standout areas/schools? Good local pubs/restaurants/coffee shops? Haven’t really found much around Earlswood but appreciate Redhill and Reigate aren’t far away. We want to move somewhere that works for us with a young family but also good for teenagers. Any thoughts much appreciated! Thank you!

The ‘Redgate’ area (check out Fengates Road) has a nice selection of Victorian houses, walking distance to Redhill station (quickest into London of those you’ve mentioned), and easy drive to Reigate (all the coffee shops you’ll ever need 😂). Good green spaces on Redhill Common and Wray Common, and Priory Park in Reigate is a mecca for every family in a 5 mile radius.
Pippa’s House nursery is nearby, and Hatchlands school opened a few years ago.

Thanks @TwigletTwo! Useful info - do you have personal experience of that school and nursery? Also any thoughts on the Earlswood area?

The nursery yes - a few years ago and not for very long, but we liked it. Lacking outdoor space but nice management and we were happy there.
Earlswood was ok - near the hospital, but nothing really to note about it otherwise. The trains are longer/not as frequent.
