Should we have been informed before the local council dug up directly outside my property extending the footpath and placing a bus stop outside my garden gate?

I arrived home from work to discover the road and footpath directly outside my garden gate has been dug up and apparently a bus stop is being moved and placed there.
We havent been given any information on this and only knew what was going on due a neighbour asking the workmen and the first I knew was seeing the rubble and barriers even though the works are literally on my garden.
I am shocked to be honest and disgusted too as I have mobility issues and I will be unable to park outside my own property due to them also extending the footpath into the road therefore illiminating any available parking.
My neighbours have driveways but I don't.
The original bus stop is around 20 feet away and does not impact any properties so I am baffled as to why this was not carried out in the original place or at least have the decency to inform the 2 houses this will impact.

Very annoying

They’ve left rubble on your property?! I’d be onto planning first thing tomorrow to find out wtf they’re playing up. It could be that they’re using contractors who are misbehaving, but you need an explanation from tge council. Strictly speaking, they don’t need to notify you if they do work on the pavement or road, but it would be nice if they’d given you advance notice. They have no right to dump anything on your property though.

Sounds awful, sorry OP.

They haven't left the rubble on my property just directly outsdie my garden. I'm more bothered that they have carried this out without informing us and now a busstop and bollards directly outside my garden gate with no notification.
Due to our vehicles being repeatedly damaged beingboarked on the road, we were planning on having a driveway but won't be able to now with this monstrosity directly in the way 😢

Ahh, I thought the rubble was actually on your garden. I’d still contact the council and start the conversation with them. Someone round the corner from us had a postbox installed right outside their front gate - the complained to the council and got their local councillor involved. It was subsequently moved about 10 feet away which made a massive difference to them - it’s worth complaining imo, esp if you are now prevented from installing a driveway or anything else.
