Any feedback about Exeter Cathedral school from current / recent parents. We are considering it for my daughter who would start in the nursery! We looked around and loved it but looking for some experience from other parents!

Late to thread but just to say this is a really lovely school.. these are my experiences and observations of ECS:

•Smaller and cosier than other schools in areas so potentially easier to settle in if joining mid year or in the later years as very inclusive and bespoke and less cliques in my experience .
•gets academic results without huge homework burden / pressure on the kids - think this is USP of the school to be honest!
•good wrap around care 7.30am to 6.30pm
•school bus from Topsham and other.
•Feeder system for Exeter / Welling / Maynard school if needed.
• insane for music opportunities / inclusive of all abilities , lots of emphasis on performance practice in non threatening way.
•sports facilities great at the university but is off site so bus in year groups.
• scholarship opportunities for year 7/8. Choral scholarships 25% off for years 2 and above . Also sibling discount 10% an other discounts.
•recognised for arts.
•non processed food
•good well being support for both neurotypical, neurodiverse and SEN children
•nice friendly parents - not uber competitive like other schools I find .
• focus on learning through play especially in early and lower years.

@LST23 thanks for that info! Really helpful. I was wondering what the homework pressure is at the school. We aren’t very keen on homework and so I’m a bit worried about my daughter doing a full day of school then getting home and having to do lots of work?

loved the school when we looked around though! So glad to hear some positive things about it thank you ☺️

Our son thrived there. He graduated from university this year.
