We currently live in Hove with our 16 month old DD, but are needing to move. We just put an offer in on a house in Saltdean (luckily not up the hill!). It isn't our ideal area, but the extra space, sea views and still ease of getting into town make it a bit of a no-brainer.
However, the house is JUST beyond the East Saltdean sign, which technically puts us in Lewes District (by a few metres!).
What does this mean for Primary Schools?
Our DD is Priority One and I had heard that it was a bit of a 'free for all' in terms of Primary where the catchment was open across the area, which would have given us our pick of schools.
Bilingual and Middle Street were our favourites - are they off the cards now? (we don't mind the journey in - both work from home for ourselves so have the time).
We'd be happy with Saltdean Primary too as we have friends who send their children there and are very happy, but does being in Lewes District by a few metres mean we would be out of catchment?
Saltdean seems confusing, carved up into three/four different districts.
(FYI, as I know it'll be responded to....its unlikely we'd stay in the area for secondary school as I know the catchments are stricter and I hear horror stories about Longhill High).
