New to area, where for 5 year old to make friends?

Hello!

Having grown up on a farm in Moreton in Marsh, then moving away when older, my partner and I have now returned to live in Moreton. My daughter is currently still at Berkhampstead in Cheltenham (considering moving to Sidford) but would really love to have some local friends to play with as hers are so far away for weekends. Where would people suggest taking her to make some?

I should add that she is just 5 years old.

I’m completely confused. How is your 5 year old still in Berkhamsted / Cheltenham while you’re in Moreton? Who is she living with?

If you are living in Moreton surely she should be too, and she will make friends at school?

Join Rainbows. Guiding is a great way to make friends outside of school.

The obvious one is local weekend sports/activities. Sign her up for a couple of things and I'm sure you'll get a chance to chat with the other parents and get to know the kids.

And she can still see school mates on the weekend, but the onus will probably be on you to drive.

I think OP means she is still at school at Berkhampstead, she hasn't yet moved to a local school.

@Dolphinnoises Gosh - I was told people here could be judge’y but didn’t expect quite such a rude response.

She lives with me - obviously. I drive her there every day, which is 80 miles a day whilst working full time and running a farm, as you can imagine it isn’t easy, so we are looking for a local school.

That reply wasn't rude, it was confused because your OP is quite confusing. I read most of it thinking you were a grandparent posting for their daughter about a grandchild.

But you've also had some helpful responses.
