Have you received maternity care at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust since the 1st March 2018? If so, we would like to make you aware of the IMPART study and what this means for you.

What is happening?
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is taking part in the IMPART study to understand how, why, for whom, to what extent and in what contexts the Preterm Birth Surveillance Pathway is successfully (and unsuccessfully) implemented.

We will be collecting information about women who receive maternity care at this hospital.

Preterm Birth Surveillance Pathway = a new pathway to identify women at high risk of preterm birth

What information is collected?
The study would like to analyse maternity information and data that is collected as part of routine care. This includes demographics, medical history, pregnancy and delivery information. All data will be pseudonymized before it is analysed.
Pseudonymization is a data management procedure that replaces the information that can lead to your identity

What happens to the information collected?
The data will be downloaded by the clinical team at the hospital. The research team from King’s College London will then pseudonymize the data (as they have experience in this) and create study participant numbers. No data that is not pseudonymized will be leaving the local site.

The record that links the identifiable personal information to study participant information number will be kept at the local NHS hospital and will not leave the local hospital.

What will happen to the pseudonymized data?
The data will be kept non-identifiable and secure. It will be analysed to help produce a set of recommendations for implementing the Preterm Birth Pathway in a range of hospitals.

Where can I get more information?
You can contact the study team (Naomi Carlisle, [email protected], telephone 07385935163, or Professor Jane Sandall, [email protected]) for more information.

I don’t want my data to be used this way
No problem – please let Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust know ([email protected]) and your data will not be included.
