Commuting to Kidlington and London

It looks like I got a job offer in Kidlington. Not confirmed and could still be London, but I get the impression that it'll be the Oxford location. However, my partner will need to get into High Street Kensington twice a week. I'll also only be required to be in the office twice a week (at least that's what the manager thinks). So looking for places with an easy commute to both.

We have a 4 year old who will be starting school in September. I do drive and have a car, but I keep reading awful things about driving to commute. My partner doesn't drive, so we still need to be within easy reach of station. Plus, I'd love to have the option of the train if I want.

We would be looking to rent at first (3 bed house). We own a flat in London and are hoping to rent it out to see how we get on first. It will be at least a 2 year commitment.

Would be interested in hearing some suggestions. We have looked at Didcot, but not too keen. We loved Wantage when we spent time there, but no train. Also looking at Bicester and Ayelsbury. Abingdon is another option, but no train. Ideally neither of us would commute more than 65 minutes, but that's looking difficult unless I'm missing something.

The Chiltern railway line runs from Oxford through Kidlington to London Marylebone so anywhere along that would probably suit you. Oxford parkway station is on the edge of Kidlington so it would depend where in Kidlington you are working as to if you could walk from there to the office or you might need to connect with a bus. Along the line you could look at Bicester, Haddenham, Princes Risborough, High Wycombe or Beaconsfield which all have stations. Journey time from Oxford Parkway to Marylebone is just over an hour so somewhere inbetween should work for the commute times you mention. Season tickets can be expensive so you might want to check the costs from each station on the Chiltern website.

Thanks @CheeseCakeSunflowers - We've decided to focus on Bicester. Hopefully more properties will appear soon as we get closer to July!
