Lego Discovery Centre

Hi

We're coming to Birmingham to visit family for a few days over Easter. Is the Legoland Discovery Centre worth a visit? I have two DC, 9 and 6. It seems quite pricey and I can't tell from the website whether it's going to be decent value for money, or whether we'll get round it all in an hour.

We've been to the Sealife centre before and loved it, as well as Thinktank and the west mids safari park.

If you have any other suggestions for days out, that would be great.

Thanks!

Sorry, only just spotted this.
I've not been to the legoland place (my dc are now grown and you aren't allowed in without children!). A friend was telling me they'd taken a 6 and 8 yr old and it was good, but they didn't think there was that much for 8s and over. Just one opinion - sorry, I'm not really in the age group with lots of dc of that age.

It's definitely worth a visit to the Nature Centre Here. It is a lovely place to spend a few hours.
In fact Cannon Hill Park as a whole can fill quite a few hours - apart from wandering round, there is now mini-golf, pedalo rides, tea rooms and lots of arts stuff going on at the MAC MAC. they often have stuff going on at Bank Holidays and school holidays. There are sometimes festivals / book fairs / etc going on in the park.

Worth looking at the BMAG site. There are 7 Museums and Art Galleries and places like Sarehole Mill often have stuff going on at Bank Holidays too.

If you haven't been then Cadbury World is worth a visit, but best if you can get vouchers or book using Tesco clubcard points, etc as quite expensive otherwise. Will be busy though. Near Cadbury World there is a place called Selly Manor which is quite nice to look round - basically an old Manor House, but they have a quiz trail and the dc can try on armour etc.

The new library is worth a look - you can go up to a viewing gallery at the top, and it is close to the Central Art Gallery which is free and again, loads to see in there - including things like the Egyptian gallery - so it can keep the dc entertained for quite a while. then you aren't far from the canals which are quite nice to spend 1/2 hour walking on or you can get a trip on a barge if you like. Loads of places to eat around there too.
