Hi -- Newish to Mumsnet, living slap bang in the middle of Cornwall near St Columb, two daughters, one about to be two, the other about to be four. Any recommendations for/information on primary schools St Columb/Wadebridge area v gratefully received! Deadline looming on Friday...
Considering St Mawgan, St Breock, St Wenn....

Mevagisseyjo · 19/01/2011 19:45

Hi Thirtysomething. Also new to Mumsnet, living in Withiel (sort of between Wadebridge, Bodmin, Newquay and St Austell!) I have a 2 year old - been starting to look as well. Thought St Wenn looked like a nice little school - hope you made a decision that you're happy with.

Am moving back to Cornwall, grew up in Padstow in the '70's to look after elderly parents. Am thinking of moving to Truro and sending four of my children to Truro School. Does anyone have anything encouraging to say about it and the Prep Dept and also bringing up a family in Truro rather than in a nice village in the vicinity? Thanks.

I'm about to move to Cornwall from North London this summer - dh has job in Penryn but we're in two minds about where to live - choice between Penryn/falmouth area with kids going to Kennall Vale or Stithians (only 2 schools nearby with places for both of them) or further south near St Hilary or Ludgvan (2 other schools with places). tempted by St Hilary as v near our favourite beach at Perranuthnoe & things in Penzance but also tempted by Falmouth due to art college& shops! any advice mumsnetters?

Thirstysomething · 13/07/2011 09:17

Hi Mevagisseyjo, you are very close! (Does your surname begin with A by any chance?!) Sorry about delay replying, I don't get the time to come on mumsnet very often... Sending her to St Wenn. Tough decision between there and St Breock (very impressive), but gone for convenience over facilities... Lots changing at St Wenn so a chance to really get involved and change things that could be improved? Very sweet little school and got a great Ofsted. Will keep you posted... !

Hi ladies,

I am moving back to Cornwall after 12 years with 3 little ones. Moving to Probus, husband got a job at Truro school. Lost touch with most of my old school friends, anyone know any good playgroups in that area? My eldest will be at Preschool 2 and a half days a week, and i'll have a 2 year old and newborn.

Thanks in advance
x

CornishTsarina · 26/02/2012 20:50

Hi Mspeef. Welcome to Cornwall. People do pop on and off these boards but not a huge amount. Good luck for July!

stubbornstains · 01/05/2012 19:51

Cor, I've been on MN for about 3 years, and this is the first time I've found this bit! Honey, did you use to post as Feralgirl? If not, she must live close to you....

I live between Helston and Falmouth, and came on because I promised to Do my Bit for our playgroup (Gweek Seals Playgroup! It's fab!).

kerry6466 · 01/05/2012 20:24

Hi stubbornstains! I've come on here for the first time in ages and just seen your post. I'm hoping to come to your playgroup soon. I'm in Constantine x

I live in mid Cornwall.
Children nearly all grown.
