Teddington state primary schools and general area questions

Hi mums, I'm looking for some advice please.
We are planning a move to Teddington over the summer so we can enroll our daughter for state primary schools in the area. I'm new to the UK educational system and find the whole thing a minefield- we are currently looking at Collis, Hampton Wick and St Mary's & St Peters and was wondering does anyone have any experience of these? Or can recommend any other fantastic state primaries in the area.
Also in terms of looking at areas to live, are there particular areas I should look for?- ideally I'd like to be fairly close to the high street but still be in the catchment for schools. Finally, I need to find a nursery or child-minder for my other daughter- any recommendations would be greatly received :)
Thanks so much and sorry for all the questions!

You really can't go wrong with schools in Teddington. If you can, visit to see if they feel right for you, because although all fantastic, I think they do feel different. If you choose Hampton Wick, it is a change of school for Juniors, from non denominational to CofE. However, since you have listed SMSP, I'd guess you are fine with that.

Anywhere close to the high street is nice, but I'd pay attention to the last cut off points for those schools in recent years. It is a while ago now, but a few years ago a friend's son was not given a school in Teddington (was allocated one in Ham!) from Cambridge Road. Also, if you plan to stay, have a look at where you might be thinking about for secondary. Too close to the High St, and you are discounting Waldegrave for your DD. Too far along it and some years, Teddington School might be perilously close to being too far. That time will come quicker than you think!

How old will your dd be. If you are applying for a reception place for sept 19 the above applies. If she is older she will be an inyear admission and the it depends where has space.

Thanks both- really helpful. She will be starting reception in 2019 so really valid. Thanks again.
On another note, are there mum and child groups or activities in the area where it is possible to meet people? I don't know anyone currently in Teddington so keen to make some friends when we move.
Thank you :))
