Hi we are looking to move and considering surrounding areas of Chertsey high school. Any opinions on Chertsey, Addlestone surrounding areas would be greatly appreciated.

Chertsey has lots of nice areas, and Addlestone is up and coming. Ottershaw is quite sleepy, but there are plans for a new garden village next to it.

Have a look on Rightmove.

I live in Addlestone and work in Chertsey - Ottershaw is probably considered posher than either Chertsey or Addlestone.

If you want to be near CHS to get a child in there, you may need to live in Chertsey.

Thank you, is there certain roads I need to avoid when looking to buy? My son has got a place at CHS already but looking for area where it will be easy for him to get to school.

Not sure what you mean by roads you need to avoid, but if he’s walking to school I would go for Chertsey, which has some lovely older houses in walking distance.

The town end of Addlestone is also in walking distance. If you’re intending to drive him there, especially from Ottershaw, be aware the roads around CHS get extremely congested at peak times, especially around Addlestonemoor roundabout, though going towards the school is slightly better than the opposite direction.

They are both very benign places. There is not much to avoid. I can’t think of anywhere specifically.

Hello! I have lived in Chertsey for three years and really like it, personally, Sure, it's not the most exciting place, but there are lots of lovely period houses full of character, if that's your thing, and I enjoy being able to walk to all the basics - Sainsbury's, Aldi, quite a few playgrounds etc. The only thing that concerns me about being here is limited options for schools but if you're already sorted then I'd say you're fine! I live in the town centre which we like but parking is a bit of a pain as we don't have a driveway.
